Overview

Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for an Manager Network Services. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Alberta, AB; .



As a Manager Network Services with Sobeys, you will:

• Provide an effective and efficient National Communications Network that covers data, voice, video, and wireless technology services at all locations including stores, offices, and distribution centers.
• Identify new methods and technologies leading to improvements in network performance and cost reduction.
• Direct staff in creating the most effective network infrastructure design to meet IT objectives \xc2\xb7 Manage Network services projects.
• Participate in negotiations to establish annual agreements with vendors covering voice, data, video and wireless services.
• Ensure that Network Disaster Recovery plans are in place and maintained and tested \xc2\xb7 Assist with maintaining network performance at its optimum level.
• Direct responsibility for hiring and staff development.
• Assist Director with departmental budgets.
• Maintain favourable relations with vendors.
• Mentor and coach staff to build a cohesive and efficient team.
• Liaison between IT and the business to support business requirements, by adding value to the corporate strategy and developing IT solutions as an enabler for the business.

Job Requirements

Your experience and resume will show us:

• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or similar.
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience with network services.
• Experience in management of network services and implementation projects.
• Experience managing and deploying network segmentation in Data Centers as well as retail environments.
• Experience supporting multi cloud environements.
• Previous experience managing a multi-million dollar operating budget.
• Cisco and Meraki Network experience.
• Experience in problem and change management.
• Project Management training.
• Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills.
• Able to effectively demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
• Ability to understand the relationship between the business and IT.
• Functional knowledge of network technology.
• Able to negotiate contracts with vendors.
