The Manager of Member Services and Communications is responsible for developing and executing membership and communication strategies that ensure the organization's value proposition is consistently delivered. This role leads a team focused on marketing, communications, and member services, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and oversight to promote engagement and alignment with organizational priorities.
This organization represents professionals across the legal sector, providing resources, guidance, and advocacy to support the growth and development of its members.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key job functions are:

  • Lead and oversee the communications and member services team, ensuring workflow efficiency, collaboration, and high-quality output.
  • Provide strategic input to enhance member services and communications initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop team members through feedback, guidance, and performance reviews.
  • Develop and execute membership and communication strategies, including metrics tracking and reporting.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications, including reports, promotional materials, and digital content.
  • Plan and support major events, such as annual meetings and award ceremonies.
  • Deliver executive communications support and strategic counsel to reinforce brand and member value.
  • Manage media relations, including preparing spokespersons and responding to inquiries.
  • Oversee publication and digital strategy initiatives to enhance content delivery and engagement.
  • Coordinate marketing, advertising, and sponsorship efforts to support organizational goals.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and technology advancements, including generative AI applications.
  • Participate in national and cross-organizational teams and projects as required.
  • Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and uphold organizational standards.
Education:
  • A bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Professional development in leadership, digital marketing, or member services is preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.
  • Experience in managing multi-channel communications, membership engagement programs, and event coordination.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to align initiatives with organizational priorities.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and strong interpersonal skills.
Experience:
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in communications, member services, or related fields.
  • Experience managing a small to mid-sized team and delivering measurable results.
  • Demonstrated experience with stakeholder engagement, content creation, and strategic planning.
  • Previous work with professional associations or membership-based organizations considered an asset.
Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level correspondence.
  • Ability to provide coaching, guidance, and mentorship to team members.
  • Strategic thinking and project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Proficiency in digital communication platforms, marketing tools, and analytics.
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Adaptability to evolving organizational needs and emerging technologies.
Base Salary: $85,000-95,000 per year

Work Hours:
  • 40 hours per week
Additional Notes:
  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
