Tourism Partnership of Niagara (TPN) is one of Ontario's 13 officially designated Regional Tourism Organizations (RTO) by the Ministry of Tourism Culture and Gaming and is dedicated to promoting and enhancing the Niagara Region as a premier, world-class travel destination. Position Overview



The

Manager, Marketing and Tourism Development

is a pivotal new role designed to build and deepen stakeholder relationships, guide strategic marketing execution, and champion the Niagara brand across multiple channels and platforms. As a trusted partner and thought leader, the successful candidate will serve as a key TPN ambassador, leading community engagement, marketing strategy, brand development, and public relations efforts in alignment with our strategic objectives.

This is a role for a relationship builder, a strategic thinker, a marketing expert, and a results-driven leader who is passionate about tourism and believes in Niagara's potential to compete on the world stage. Due to the dynamic nature of the job, occasional evening and weekend hours may be required, but otherwise the role observes regular business hours. Occasional

travel, including overnight, may also be required; The candidate should have a reliable mode of transportation to travel to offsite meetings.

Key Responsibilities



Strategic Marketing & Campaigns



Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop TPN's annual strategic marketing plan; lead the execution of integrated marketing campaigns on-time and on-budget. Manage agency and/ or third-party vendor relationships ensuring compliance, goal alignment, and performance standards are met. Develop and oversee digital marketing strategies, including content development, campaign tracking, and analytics reporting.

Community Engagement & Partnerships



Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with tourism stakeholders, municipal partners, and educational institutions. Act as the primary liaison for partner marketing initiatives, event support, and programs, offering guidance and executional support. Lead regular outreach and consultations to understand partner goals and provide tailored marketing and development solutions.

Brand & Communications Leadership



Serve as TPN's lead for all internal and external communications, ensuring consistency with brand voice, values, and visual identity. Lead the creation of press releases, newsletters, and digital content; oversee website and social media communications, including planning, approvals, and content performance. Guide the creative development process--providing insight and ensuring brand alignment in all design and messaging.

Research, Reporting & Performance Metrics



Lead marketing-related data collection, research, and reporting activities for stakeholders and the Ministry. Develop tools and dashboards for tracking campaign effectiveness and providing insights to inform decision-making. Support partners with marketing intelligence, visitor data analysis, and proactive recommendations to enhance tourism development efforts.

Public Relations & Media Oversight



Represent TPN at industry conferences, public events, and stakeholder meetings to build visibility and foster goodwill. Monitor and manage media placements and social sentiment, lead issues management for online and offline reputation concerns. Oversee media buying, third-party agency relations, and all earned/paid media planning and execution.

Board & Committee Support



Actively participate and regularly present to the TPN Board, Marketing & Partnership Committee and related Ad-hoc and/ or Subcommittees.

Qualifications & Competencies



University degree in Marketing, Tourism Management, Communications, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, tourism, destination development, or brand communications. Demonstrated success building stakeholder relationships and managing multi-partner initiatives. Expertise in digital strategy, social media management, and performance-based marketing. Strong understanding of data-driven decision-making, research methodologies, and performance analytics. Proven ability to manage budgets, lead cross-functional teams, and deliver results. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Deep understanding of Niagara's tourism assets and economic ecosystem. Strong ethics, emotional intelligence, and a service-oriented mindset.
