The Logistics Manager will be based out of Moncton, New Brunswick (220 Harrisville Boulevard, E1H 3N5). Reporting to the Vice President, Operations; the Logistics Manager will provide leadership of daily operations, develop the plan for future growth and development of people, and systems, and participate in the long term planning of the site as it applies to logistics and warehousing. He/she will lead, engage and motivate logistics personnel to deliver results in the areas of safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, housekeeping, and continuous improvement. Tactical responsibilities include planning and scheduling of raw materials and the movement, storage and shipment of supplies and finished goods. Key performance indicators include customer service, case fill, on time deliveries, and cost per unit production. This is a permanent, full-time position. The primary language of work is English.

Job Requirements

• University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent experience a definite asset;
• Direct experience in a logistics role or related role
• 7-10+ years of relevant experience
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience preferred
• Process and systems experience
• Experience with SAP, AWS, JD Edwards, or similar systems
• Experience with warehousing, planning, and scheduling processes

The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:

Logistics Programs and Processes:

• Coordinate and lead the Logistics operations to ensure the achievement of department objectives for safety, product quality, productivity, cost to manufacture, and customer service
• Optimizing the administration of logistics management function for both raw materials & finished products
• Maintain our high Irving standards for working conditions, housekeeping, warehouse appearance, and manufacturing equipment. Ensure the physical assets are properly maintained and upgraded and that inventories of materials and supplies are optimized
• Ensure effective application of internal controls and procedures by providing manufacturing departments with direction and support. Ensure entire team understands customer quality, service, and price needs
• Support VP of Operations and other site leaders in determining and directing long range plans, objectives and activities. Communicate effectively to subordinates and others who need answers (timely, completely, concisely, clearly, responsively, respectfully)

Continuous Improvement:

• Ensure systems are developed, maintained, and sustained to continually raise the bar on operational efficiencies and effectiveness, and operator engagement by improving work tasks and asset performance
• Provide and support for Continuous Improvement related projects as assigned
• Strategic Relationships & Coaching
• Build & manage strategic partnership with leadership teams.
• Provide advice & counsel on all people related matters to Logistical needs.
• Coach and support front line leaders in people management as it relates to role requirements
• Complete and coach on performance management (i.e. CheckIns, Performance Improvement Plans, etc.)
• Improve and maintain high employee engagement and work proactively with internal customers and other sites' teams. Establish and maintain an optimum organization with proper staffing, training, motivation
• Ensure that employees are aware of expectations and are accountable for sustaining continuous improvement initiatives and plans

Reporting and Data Admin:

• Regular tracking and reporting of KPIs (Operations Reviews, Management Business Reviews on a period and quarterly basis).
