Purpose
High quality data is critical to the success of Scotia Global Asset Management (SGAM). Investment Data Solutions (IDS) is responsible for the implementation and on-going support of our Investment Data Hub (IDH) which is a strategic priority for the firm and built on the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) solution from S&P Global Market Intelligence. IDS will increase overall data quality across the firm and centralize the management of core investment data domains such a security reference, pricing, ratings, counterparties and benchmarks.
As Manager, Investment Data Solutions, you will be part of building and establishing a business-focused investment data management practice within SGAM and will oversee the design and implementation of key data quality controls within the IDH platform while working with business and technology partners across SGAM on new data and reporting initiatives and delivery of data quality enhancements.

Accountabilities

As a Manager, Investment Data Solutions, you will:

• 
  Deliver and maintain accurate, complete and timely investment data sets in the IDH by proactively identifying and correcting data quality issues and responding to data or reporting enquiries
• Provide first-line support for relevant data projects and data enquires and ensure support requests are handled promptly and accurately
• Work with technical support teams from Scotia GWE and vendor to resolve production and data issues
• Participate in the creation, maintenance and timely delivery of scheduled reports for investment teams
• Work directly with business data owners to define and draft business rules and data quality controls and ensure that data quality controls are in line with best practice standards
• Develop and manage data quality metrics to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness to effectively manage the IDH platform
• Engage with key partners and stakeholders to understand investment data and reporting requirements and participate in design, planning, testing, and solutions delivery
• Participate in Investment Data Solutions projects and other cross functional projects as assigned
• Play a key role in defining governance strategies and the creation of related standards, policies and procedures for Investment Data Solutions to support enterprise data frameworks and best practices
• Participate in the implementation and testing of scheduled system releases

The successful candidate must have the following:

• 
  Bachelor Degree, with a technology or business focus, or equivalent education and experience
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SQL and Business Intelligence data tools.
• Previous experience with core investment data domains (eg positions, security reference, pricing and benchmarks)
• Ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with business partners and effectively communicate with both business and technology data stakeholders
• Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven project management experience
• Knowledge of Markit EDM, and/or Bloomberg is an asset
