Position Summary Thales Canada Defence & Security (TCDS) is looking for a Manager of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). The Manager of ILS is the Head of Discipline (HoD) responsible for Integrated Logistics Support across the organization. As such, you are responsible for the day-to-day activities of a specialized engineering team of professionals. These responsibilities include the application of ILS elements through the principles of Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), the development of technical publications, and the development and conduct of training in accordance with various commercial and military standards. The Manager of ILS is also the Resource Manager for the ILS team and reports into the Director of Engineering. Key Areas of Responsibility
  • As a Resource Manager you will provide appropriate resources to deliver bids, projects and products; Plans the team\xe2\x80\x99s workload in the short, medium and long term; Develops team skills to support bids, projects and products; Supports recruitment, onboarding, performance management, career management and succession planning for the team; Coaches, mentors and develops the team; Leads the team to meet company expectations for productivity, chargeability, quality, continuous improvement and accomplishment of objectives; Ensures that company policies and procedures are followed, including timesheets, time off, and travel.
  • As a Head of Discipline you are responsible for the establishment, standardization and evolution of processes, procedures and tooling for the discipline; Ensures that the discipline processes, procedures and tooling meet the current and future needs of the bids, projects and products; Responsible for development of lessons learned and the sharing of knowledge and experience across the discipline; Responsible for bid, project and product estimates for the discipline.
  • As Manager of ILS Implement and sustain the Company\xe2\x80\x99s ILS capability; Perform ILS Planning and Management; Responsible for subcontractor ILS requirements and activities; Promote ILS within the Engineering department; Ensure that ILS commitments are met; Provide oversight of ILS solutions on all bids, projects and products.
  • Responsible for performing ILS work on bids, projects and products.
Minimum Requirements
  • A degree in a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing an ILS team; being responsible for ILS functions; experience as a people or resource manager; managing a budget; managing an Engineering Discipline, including responsibility for associated policies and procedures.
  • Expertise in the deployment, maintenance use of at least one ILS tool (e.g. OmegaPS, Eagle, Reliasoft, Windchill Risk and Reliability); Expertise in at least one ILS standard (e.g. GEIA-0007, S3000L, S1000D).
  • Working knowledge of the ILS discipline; ILS Planning and Tailoring; Supportability Analysis; Reliability, Maintainability, Availability & Testability; Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Maintenance Planning; Supply Support Planning; Obsolescence Management; Training and Training Support
