For more information, please see www.geoforce.com.As a rapidly growing company committed to technology innovation and delivering high value services to its clients, Geoforce is constantly looking for high integrity, well-rounded professionals who thrive on challenges, are fascinated by technology, exhibit passion and pride, and don't mind rolling up their sleeves to get a job done.What We Need We are looking for a collaborative and responsible individual who will manage Geoforce's three Platform Teams (Data Analytics, Cloud Operations, Application Shared Services) and lead them as they support a broader transformation of the Software Engineering organization.Job Duties You will ensure that:

  • Geoforce's autonomous stream-aligned teams have set of self-service APIs, tools and services (i.e. "the platform") to rely on.
  • We track metrics that provide insight into the platform's reliability, performance, adoption and user satisfaction.
  • The Platform Teams are staffed with collaborative, talented, and hardworking engineers with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Team and department processes and tools are evolved to help the organization improve our deployment frequency, lead time for changes, mean time to recovery, and change failure rate.
  • You and your team build collaborative relationships with other leaders in Software Engineering and Product Management, to ensure that the Platform Team's roadmaps are aligned with the needs of our stream-aligned teams.
Knowledge and Skills
  • How to deploy, run, maintain, and scale applications in cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • How to build an application component platform (such as logging, authn/authz, notifications, data analytics) that stream-aligned teams can rely on.
  • How to define, build, and support an infrastructure platform that stream-aligned teams can rely on.
  • How to use common, "industry standard" tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • How to hire, grow, retain and part ways with team members.
Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of varied hands-on software engineering, devops, and cloud experience.
  • 2+ years leading or managing team of at least 3 individuals
  • 2+ years of AWS and/or Azure experience
  • Bonus) Leading migration to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
  • (Bonus) Migrating from one cloud provider to another
Job Type: Full-timePay: $150,000.00-$175,000.00 per yearBenefits:
