Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working in collaboration with our Director of Administration, the Manager, will be responsible for the Human Resources and Administrative functions in the Regina office, as well as providing HR and administrative support across the Firm.
As part of the Senior Management Team, the Manager will work with the Director of Administration, and the Director of Accounting and Operations, to ensure the effective and efficient management of the Firm's human resources functions including payroll, time and attendance, HRIS systems, OHS compliance, recruitment and retention, performance management and related policy development and enforcement. The Manager will play a key role in overseeing facilities management and the overall administrative functions in the Regina office. The Manager will also sit on the Firm's Culture and Wellness Committee and Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
Qualifications:
? A University degree, preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration coupled with a CPHR designation is preferred.
? Proven leader with demonstrated success in managing 20 or more staff members.
? A minimum of five (5+) years of progressive experiences at a Manager level -
experience within a professional services environment would be an asset.
? Proven leadership and motivational skills including HR management, change
management, project management, problem solving, coaching and conflict
resolution.
? Exceptional client service skills with strong judgment and excellent time
management, organizational, interpersonal, communication (verbal and written),
and focused-listening skills, and attention to detail.
? Ability to build and work within a team. Ability to problem solve and adapt to
change. Someone prepared to jump in to help when needed.
? Political acumen, tact, and ability to exercise discretion, handle sensitive
information and maintain confidentiality.
? Solid computer literacy level including proficient use of MS Office applications.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
? Develop and implement HR strategies and policies aligned with the Firm's
business goals, and provide overall HR support to the lawyers in the Regina
office.
? Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for all legal assistants,
and accounting and office support staff.
? Manage employee relations, including training, performance management,
conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives (including staff retreats).
? Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and territorial employment laws
(including OHS regulations).
? Manage HR operations, including payroll, time and attendance, and HRIS
systems, and administer the Firm's compensation and benefits programs.
? Attract and retain top talent and conduct workforce planning and succession
planning to meet organizational needs.
? Oversee the administration and facilities management functions of the Regina
office, and work with third parties in coordinating office maintenance, renovation
projects, etc.
