Purpose of Position:




Pacekids Programs is a family-focused, non-profit service provider that empowers children with diverse needs and their families through excellence in therapy, education, and play. Pacekids currently provides services to over 600 children and family each year.


The Manager, Fund Developmentis responsible for all aspects of Pacekids' fund development portfolio, including the effective management of major gifts, annual giving, signature and third-party events, and grants and foundations. The Manager, Fund Development will have two direct reports including the Coordinator, Events & Sponsorship and the Coordinator, Donor Relations.


This is a full-time permanent position, with hours outside of a regular workday often required. Diplomacy, tact and conflict resolution skills are necessary as this position has works closely with external stakeholders to grow and enhance Pacekids' sustainable funding mix.

Overview of Responsibilities:

Leadership

Provide leadership and direction managing members of the fund development team; regular meetings, performance assessments, and ongoing support, coaching and mentorship Establish strategic direction for the Fund Development portfolio and evaluate fiscal performance and qualitative objectives Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement; seek feedback from donors and other stakeholder groups and adjust Fund Development efforts and focus as necessary Effectively interpret and disseminate key pieces of information from the Senior Leadership team to the Fund Development team Foster a culture based on Pacekids' vision, mission, and values

Donor Strategy

Lead the Fund Development strategy & annual planning by identifying areas of growth/opportunity, establishing objectives, and supporting the strategy of Pacekids' annual giving program Identify and establish an annual inventory of giving opportunities that contribute to Pacekids operational budget and provide meaningful donor experiences Work with the Managing Director, Development & Engagement to establish relationship action plans for mid and major level donors with key objectives and tactics Oversee the engagement strategy for various donor groups/segments and request support of the Marketing & Engagement Specialist as needed to create impactful and evoking materials that support cultivation and stewardship Ensure key stewardship, cultivation and reporting practices are established, outlined, and being consistently completed by direct reports Oversee a comprehensive transition strategy to convert fundraising event attendees/supporters to annual giving or major donors Support the Events & Sponsorship Coordinator in effective budgeting and client experience strategy for Pacekids' signature event portfolio and in the identification and qualification of potential third-party fundraisers Support the Donor Relations Coordinator in establishing a comprehensive annual plan including campaigns, monthly giving program, and stewardship and reporting procedures

Grants and Foundations

Liaise with Managing Directors to identify opportunities and priorities to strategically integrate grants and corporate giving opportunities which support operational budgets Guide the Fund Development team in researching, qualifying, and applying for suitable grants and giving programs which align with funding priorities Oversee timely reporting and effective stewarding of donors / funders and ensure all agreed upon gift recognition occurs Establish strategy and processes which effectively identifies, cultivates, and provides stewardship to corporate partners

Financials and Database Management

Ensure all donor data is being effectively captured in database and processes are in accordance with CRA guidelines Facilitate monthly fund development meetings to monitor progress and make timely and strategic adjustments where necessary Work with the finance and program teams to ensure appropriate spending of donor designated dollars Contribute to monthly financial reporting and provide appropriate highlights and information for the Board of Directors Participate in quarterly review sessions with Finance department to reconcile Fund Development related revenue and expenses

Position Requirements:



Six to eight years' experience with demonstrated results in fundraising, business development and event management Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in a related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholder groups in a variety of environments Strong belief in the value of collaboration and team connection Experience with Donor Perfect (or similar) fundraising databases Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency's guidelines as they pertain to tax receipting and cost to raise a dollar Project management, organizational and prioritizing skills; problem solving and organizational skills; attention to detail is imperative CFRE designation an asset Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance issued by local police station required Must have access to a reliable vehicle
