We are recruiting for a
Fund Development Officer
This a regular full-time position (35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with flexibility required to meet project demands including evenings and weekends) based at 737 Woolwich St. Guelph.*
The Fund Development Officer plays a key role in advancing the fundraising and community engagement goals of the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington (CMHA WW) and The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario. This position supports the implementation of strategic fund development initiatives through the planning and execution of special events, digital campaigns, and donor communications that inspire community connection and philanthropic support.
Reporting to the Manager, Fund Development, the Fund Development Officer contributes to all aspects of fundraising operations, including event management, social media and digital engagement, donor stewardship, grant coordination, and the creation of compelling communications assets. Through creativity, collaboration, and attention to detail, this role strengthens the visibility and impact of both organizations while fostering meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and community stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Fundraising, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline.
Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in fund development, with demonstrated success in event planning, donor relations, and community engagement.
Proven ability to plan, execute, and evaluate fundraising initiatives from concept to completion.
Proficiency in donor management databases (e.g., Donor Perfect) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and engaging content.
Strong organizational and project management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and internal teams.
Demonstrated cultural awareness and commitment to equity, inclusion, diversity, accessibility, and reconciliation principles

Valid G Class driver's license, access to a reliable personal vehicle, and appropriate insurance (travel to on-site meetings, events, and donor visits are required.
