Job Description


This is a 1 year contract for a Manager - Financial Systems and Reporting. This is a hybrid role - working 2 days onsite. The manager will be responsible for supporting the adoption of the accounting system and ensure all financail reporting is managed.- Maintain the Financial Systems and user functionality to ensure the data integrity of the financial records
- Ensure adherence to all Finance related policies, procedures and Internal controls including alignment to Accounting Standards for Non-Profits; TAFR; CRA and other regulatory requirements.
- Update and maintain GL Chart of Account structure in the Financial System to ensure that it reflects the current activities of the organization and is aligned to meet the reporting requirements and business objectives.
- Preparation of monthly and year end journal entries, including Payroll and benefits. Prepare and monitor reconciliation of all Restricted funds and related disbursements and ensure adherence to Policies, Procedure and Gift Agreements.
- Ensure accurate entries processed monthly related to Government funded projects - recognizing revenue and administration costs and recoveries and ensure adherence to Government Agreements.
- Preparation of all Financial reports, including analysis of variance. Assist in the Design and development of financial reports and Dashboards as required. Manage the Endowment reporting, including interest allocation and distributions. Manage reporting of financial reserves activity, including all adjusting journal entries recording Interest and transfers Supervise and support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable function and Administrator, Designation Payout role.
- Support integration work between the Financial System, CRM and other organization systems including ongoing user-maintenance of these interfaces which includes updating the CRM GL configuration.
- Support the Interim and Year-end audits including preparing year-end audit schedules; Supporting Trustee and Special Purpose audits and provide appropriate support to the external auditors. Investigate queries from other departments on a timel- More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years\' experience in an accounting role.
- CPA designation is a nice to have. Proficient in SAGE Intacct ERP.
- Ability to gather and analyze information needed for problem solving and decision making. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage constituent relationships.
- Proven organizational abilities and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure. Proven ability to take initiative and manage projects to completion with minimum supervision.
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and constituent service skills including the ability to work respectfully and inclusively with a diverse employee population.
- Excellent attention to detail and proven track record of accuracy. Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
