Position: Manager, Field Station
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Shift: 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (onsite)Our client, one of the most prominent utility organizations in North America, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager, Field Station. Key Responsibilities:- Operational Management: Direct, supervise, and coordinate all activities related to the operation, installation, construction, repairs, maintenance, commissioning, and decommissioning of substation equipment, protective relay and control systems, station metering, distribution automation equipment, and SCADA systems.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance, coaching, and leadership to staff to maximize productivity, foster a positive work environment, and maintain customer trust.
- Safety and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to safety rules, work procedures, departmental policies, and work practices. Conduct crew and site inspections, safety meetings, and investigate incidents.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement improvements in processes, tools, equipment, and methods to enhance safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness.
- Technical Direction: Offer technical guidance, review, and approvals for all work related to substation equipment and systems.
- Collaboration: Effectively coordinate and communicate with internal staff and external contractors.Requirements:- Certification: MEA Substation Electrician Journeyperson Certification or Certified Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum seven (7) years of experience in substation operations and equipment, and five (5) years of supervisory or project management experience, preferably in electrical distribution, station, and system planning, design, and construction.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid \xe2\x80\x9cG\xe2\x80\x9d driver\'s license in the Province of Ontario and be able to drive across Toronto.
- Knowledge: Familiar with relevant legislation including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, EUSA Rule Book, Utility Work Protection Code, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods. Skilled in reading electrical drawings, work protection codes, feeder/operating prints, work practices, and standards.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in various computer systems/applications including safety performance tracking systems, accident/incident investigation techniques, work management, and general office automation tools.
