Reporting to the Senior Manager, Wireless Network Field Operations (WNFO), the successful candidate will be someone who is able to coordinate their individual contributions such that the output of the team is greater than the summed output of the individual members. The successful candidate will be an open minded, flexible and positive team player and leader who effectively communicates, adapts to and leads change.


Responsibilities:


  • Use your proven and demonstrated leadership, technical, personal and project management skills to supervise and lead the WNFO team in North Central and Northeastern Ontario in their duties related to day-to-day, short and long term departmental and project deliverables and objectives
  • Accountability for overall successful people development and performance management of a team of wireless field technicians
  • Coordinate and support emergency maintenance activities
  • Resource prioritization, delegation and allocation of WNFO team and contractors
  • Supervise contractor progress and ensure high quality, on-time and on-budget delivery of deliverables
  • Provide support and lead initiatives with 3rd party (3P) contractors/vendors
  • Accountability for overall 3P maintenance budget and delivery of cost improvement initiatives
  • Manage team annual capital (CAPEX) and operating (OPEX) budgets with a focus on cost improvement
  • Coordinate activities with other Wireless Network teams and Bell Canada to support Bell Mobility\xe2\x80\x99s business and network implementation
  • Accountability to monitor network key performance indicators (KPIs) and initiate improvement tactics
  • Drive alignment with other WNFO teams and leads with a best practices and continuous improvement mindset
  • Provide after hours Management On-call support for the Wireless Network Operations Center and WNFO wireless field technicians
  • Plan, forecast and recommend work tools necessary for better resource management
  • Justify and identify resource constraints/needs to fulfill WNFO deliverables
  • Lead candidate search and selection with input from the Senior Manager, WNFO
  • Instill an atmosphere of accountability and responsibility within the team
  • Drive innovation by fostering an atmosphere of open communication
  • Uses appropriate delegation to create a sense of ownership that empowers individuals

Essential Qualifications:


  • Electronics Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent
  • Solid knowledge of Telecommunication, RF and IP technologies
  • 2 to 5 years experience in Wireline and/or Wireless Technologies
  • Extensive computer competencies, specifically Microsoft Office applications and ability to provide documentation, tracking and information for reports/presentations, as necessary
  • Must have a valid Ontario Class G driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and be able to demonstrate safe and responsible motor vehicle operation
  • A clear Bell corporate and Police security/background check is required (Minimum of OPP Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Excellent written, oral, and inter-personal communication skills
  • Possess leadership skills with a passion for results
  • Self-sufficient and strong ability to adapt to changes


Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:


  • Previous experience in management or team leadership
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service skills
  • Project Management experience and a track record of solid delivery results
  • Experience in the Public Safety Radio communications field
