From our incredible partnerships with iconic luxury brands, to our commitments to corporate social responsibility, you will be inspired every day.The Manager, Public Relations & Events, works closely with vendor and internal partners to strategically build the profile of Holt Renfrew via dynamic event, experience and public relations programs. The role works closely with national and regional fashion and lifestyle press including editors, stylists as well as influencers and content creators to amplify ongoing Holt Renfrew campaigns and programs. This role is also responsible for developing and spearheading strategic in-store events, animations and trunks shows that differentiate Holt Renfrew, ensuring complete integration across all channels and delivery consistent with the company\xe2\x80\x99s overall goals. This role partners with store marketing managers to set in-store event plan and strategic partners by market.Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:Public Relations

  • In conjunction with Director, PR & Events, oversee the execution of all vendor and seasonal events and public relations programs
  • Develop and enhance Toronto region, national and international fashion and lifestyle press and influencer relationships to ensure proactive media programs, monitoring and assessing editorial calendars and press developments with respect to new publications, broadcast and digital programs
  • Continually develop and identify proactive pitch programs to raise the profile of Holt Renfrew as the leading fashion and lifestyle destination; with a focus on celebrating the in store experience
  • Lead the allocation and delivery of analytics to support effective target-setting, payroll management and operational audits
  • Ensure effective use of Holt Renfrew PR resources, with priority attention paid to HR brand
  • Source and work with external vendors to negotiate service agreements for agreed upon services
  • Proactive outreach to press to meet strategic objectives, balanced with responding in a professional and effective manner to a high volume of daily press requests: from interview requests to product information/sourcing
  • Partner with marketing to build and execute PR programs to support marketing initiatives. Including personal appearances, integrate with regional marketing teams to ensure national coordination
  • Develop effective relations with vendor PR teams to ensure successful execution of plans
  • Work closely with the Fashion Direction office, buyers and store teams to ensure a strong grasp of ongoing merchandise developments and in-store deliveries, to effectively identify and execute proactively on long and short-term press opportunities
  • Ensure standards for press loans are followed, and continually reviewed to balance corporate standards with enhanced press coverage opportunities
  • Continually monitor press coverage and enhance press relations to increase Holt Renfrew credit, paying particular attention to improving on-page increase
  • Takes the opportunity to champion specific projects
  • Develop and manage systems to track, analyze and archive press coverage and provide quantitative and qualitative updates on progress against plans Lead, motivate, and retain a team of high performing employees that is capable of delivering results
  • Manage the Coordinator, Public Relations & Events Lead, by coaching, developing and motivating a high performing employee that is capable of delivering results
Events
  • Manage production including work back, program flow and implementation with both internal and external teams ensuring all event deliverables are met on budget and on time for key, brand focused events (Personal appearances, high profile customer events and seasonal event programs)
  • Overseeing marketing briefs for all key, brand events ensuring accuracy with timing, targeting as well as manage all approvals for programs
  • Supporting with preparation of marketing strategies for key vendor seasonal/annual business reviews including program and budget forecast, post mortems, ROI, brand & division customer analytic overviews and new strategic ideas
  • Supporting with preparation of internal and external presentations to communicate divisional marketing strategies, plans, vendor proposals and tactics as required (e.g. GM conference & vendor meeting inputs, vendor proposals)
  • Assist with annual budget planning with direct responsibility for monthly division forecasting, ongoing billing and tracking of all event expenses
  • Prioritize event implementations including critical paths, monitoring of progress, development of launch materials, communication and results tracking
  • Effectively manage and deliver flawless execution \xe2\x80\x9cend to end\xe2\x80\x9d of all key events (Personal appearances, high profile customer events and seasonal event programs)
The ideal candidate:
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field
  • 5-7 years post-university work experience, including minimum 1 year event management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who is able to act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required
  • Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow up skills
  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing
  • Ensure compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures
