  • Lead the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced Equity team, empowering the team to provide exceptional experiences;
  • Support the growth and development of the team while serving as an effective and holistic leader;
  • Provide strategic support to the Director, in advancing EDI corporate objectives across the organization with a particular focus on Anti-Black Racism in partnership with all business departments, Employee Resource Groups, THP Circle, People Services, THP Foundation, external partners and community leaders;
  • Through an inclusive and collaborative approach, lead the design and implementation of THP\xe2\x80\x99s core EDI strategy, team, and processes to support workforce planning, employee retention, and talent management across the organization;
  • Develop THP\xe2\x80\x99s talent brand as an employer of choice within the healthcare industry;
  • Lead the team in finding innovative solutions in situations where standard activities could be improved or made more efficient;
  • Offer strategic advice and support to the EDI team leads where needed and amplify EDI outcomes across the organization;
  • Champion a high-performance team through operational effectiveness initiatives in the department to improve core processes and systems;
  • Possess an authentic passion for lifelong learning with a dedication to staying current on leading and innovative diversity research and topics;
  • Monitor employee sentiment pertaining to EDI through periodic surveys and employee forums and formulates action plans to address gaps;
  • Identify emerging workforce trends and needs through analysis of HR metrics and established feedback mechanisms, escalating identified issues as appropriate and building out strategies for improvement;
  • Ensure the optimal management of human, financial and capital resources within the department;
  • Provide inclusive, effective leadership, and development and coaching of direct reports;
  • Support the broader People team through effective relationship building and strong connections between the EDI team and broader people strategies, programs and services;
  • Advise and assist with incorporating an EDI lens into organizational goals, policies, and practices.

As the successful candidate, you will focus on developing and building on existing processes and practices to continuously transform our approach to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. You\xe2\x80\x99ll do this by bringing a unique and highly authentic blend of leadership qualities and skills to the role, and a strong sense of self-awareness. You have:
  • Relevant University degree/diploma or work experience;
  • Additional certification in DEI training and Change Management is considered an asset;
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in healthcare or public sector work environment preferred with at least 3 years of people management required;
  • Strong leadership, adaptability, interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential for this role, including the ability to build strong relationships;
  • Demonstrated experience driving the employee value proposition through communication channels including social media platforms;
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion and demonstrated experience in leading transformational change;
  • Experience challenging the status quo and utilizing innovative thinking and demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills;
  • Support multi-disciplinary project team through all phases of the project life cycle, providing coaching, motivation, and guidance throughout the duration of projects;
  • Active listener and analytic mindset which enable building a comprehensive understanding of issues, and risks; and an aptitude, interest, and ability to delve in and design thoughtful solutions;
  • Experience in planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring EDI projects and major initiatives;
  • Strong people leadership capabilities with effective change management experience and demonstrated ability to lead and influence cultural and organizational transformation;
  • Able to listen and lead a team with Empathy;
  • Solid track record of establishing credibility and building relationships at all levels and providing proactive and responsive solutions;
  • Keen understanding of how diversity, inclusion, and cultural proficiency prove critical to developing a dynamic and equitable workplace;
  • Advanced understanding of EDI and how to integrate an equity-minded lens at both the individual and systems change levels;
  • Experience managing high demands of a portfolio while working closely with partners needs to achieve strategic plan aligned outcomes;
  • A track record of driving positive experiences for people through programs, services, and advisory functions.
