Who we are
The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) works at the centre of the province\'s power system, ensuring Ontarians have access to reliable and cost-effective electricity when and where they need it. We operate the province\'s electricity grid 24/7, design, run and oversee the wholesale electricity markets, and plan and prepare to meet Ontario\'s electricity needs - now and into the future.
The Opportunity
The Manager, Employee Experience and Culture guides the IESO on culture initiatives and practices that enable IESO\'s strategy, including equity, diversity and inclusion. The incumbent partners with business leaders to enhance the employee experience and strengthen employee contributions to business results.
What you\'ll be doing
Champion a positive and engaging culture at the IESO. Assist the organization in delivering a meaningful and valuable employee experience at all points of the employee life cycle:
Support the IESO in fostering the culture that will support the strategy. Implement change practices that address organizational opportunities and generate employee commitment. Draw linkages between cultural initiatives and business metrics. Collaborate with Communications to increase employees\' connection to business priorities and outcomes
Lead diversity and inclusion by measuring, continuously improving, and collaborating with leaders and employees to enhance our culture and advance our values. Work with the D&I Committee to stay connected and aligned on priorities and approaches
Develop an employee feedback program that uses a variety of approaches (focus groups, pulse surveys) to gather input into business decisions, priorities, and actions. Assist the organization in taking meaningful actions that increase employees\' connections and contributions to strategy
Conduct employee life cycle analytics to determine practices that enhance or detract from the employee experience. Collaborate with leaders and employees to continually evolve the experience in order to retain key talent
Lead the performance planning and assessment approach at the IESO and clarify roles and accountabilities for different levels of the organization so that leaders have confidence that the business plan will be executed effectively and employees have clarity on how they will contribute.
Operate at the organizational level to obtain input, achieve buy-in, introduce programs, obtain feedback, and continuously improve
Establish measurement and assessment programs to report on:
Organizational performance
Individual performance
Manage logistics associated with responsibilities including budget, vendor management, procurement processes program set up, and client communications.
What you need to succeed
University degree in Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, Organizational Development, Human Resources or equivalent required.
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in engagement and/or organizational development roles
Knowledge, skill and experience in the following: culture change, employee engagement, performance assessment
Strong knowledge of analytical tools
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain, influence, listen, instruct, give clear feedback, and ask insightful questions
Very strong facilitation skills with a proven ability to bring a group to resolution, decision, or conclusion
Very strong coaching skills gained by engaging in coaching activities with individuals at all levels of an organization
Very strong organizational development skills (especially systems thinking)
Ability to assess organizational or individual situations and determine appropriate practices
Ability to assess business priorities and determine appropriate learning or organizational development intervention
Experience working with HRIS integrated systems
Experience with the implementation of organizational initiatives
