This role is part of our ET/UT product line.

Reporting to the Director of Electronics Engineering, the Manager, Electronics Designer is responsible for overseeing all electronic development activities at the Quebec site. This includes the design of new electronic boards, their transition to production, maintenance management, and lifecycle monitoring.

The manager leads a team of electronic designers and technicians, supporting them in executing development projects and continuously improving tools, methods, and standards. Acting as both a technical and operational leader, this person ensures that the developed electronic solutions meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and reliability, while remaining aligned with internal and external customer needs. This role requires a strong balance of technical expertise, team leadership, and customer focus.

As Manager, Electronics Designer you must be able to

Lead, coach, and motivate the electronics design and technician team in their daily activities and development projects. Plan, organize, and monitor electronic board development projects to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality delivery. Supervise the transition of new products into production in collaboration with manufacturing teams. Manage the full lifecycle of electronic products, including maintenance, evolution, obsolescence management, and continuous improvement. Participate actively in design reviews and technical decision-making, challenging proposed solutions constructively through your expertise. Evaluate and prioritize development and maintenance requests from other departments (R&D, production, service, product, etc.). Work closely with other technical teams (systems, firmware/FPGA, software, mechanical, test) to ensure seamless integration of electronic solutions. Contribute to the development and improvement of company-wide electronic design processes, tools, and standards. Manage the group's human resources: hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluation, and skill development. Foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (quality, timelines, costs, reliability). Perform other related duties as required.

What makes you an asset to our team

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline. 8-10 years of relevant experience in electronic product development, including significant experience managing a technical team. Proven experience in complex electronic board design, ideally within a multidisciplinary context. Experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) is a strong asset. Demonstrated leadership, organizational skills, initiative, and ability to motivate a team. Strong technical background with the ability to challenge and guide the team constructively. Excellent judgment, rigor, analytical, and synthesis skills. Strong customer focus with the ability to understand and translate user needs into effective technical solutions. Proficiency with electronic design tools (e.g., Altium) and associated standards. Ability to improve development efficiency through innovative approaches (e.g., AI-based tools). Familiarity with structured development practices (design reviews, validation, configuration management, documentation). Solid understanding of product development processes and production transfer (DFM, DFT, industrialization). Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Availability to travel occasionally.
