The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Brand Marketing & Communications, WCHF, the Manager, Digital Strategy, is responsible for leading the Foundation's digital presence and enhancing digital performance across all channels. This role sets the vision and roadmap for digital, working closely with cross-functional teams to design and deliver integrated and high-performing donor journeys that drive conversion. It includes developing and executing digital communication strategies and creating engaging content across web, social media and email to support organizational goals, including awareness and fundraising.
Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of an integrated digital communications and fundraising strategy across all digital channels (web, email, paid, organic social), ensuring alignment with Foundation and hospital priorities.
  • Drive a data-informed, test-and-learn culture, leveraging analytics and insights to continuously optimize audience engagement, conversion, and revenue.
  • Oversee the digital roadmap, identifying opportunities for innovation, channel growth, and improved donor journeys across touchpoints.
Campaigns, Email & Content Strategy
  • Develop and execute communications strategies and campaigns for digital channels (web, email, paid digital, organic social) to support fundraising initiatives, events, and ongoing communications that align with organizational goals
  • Create, edit, guide and distribute clear, engaging and consistent messaging across multiple platforms, including website, social media and newsletters
  • Manage and optimize all digital channels, ensuring content is on brand, timely and engaging
  • Identify and optimize content to maximize opportunities for connection and audience engagement
  • Lead the Foundation's email marketing strategy, including audience segmentation, automation, A/B testing, and optimization of performance metrics (open rates, click-throughs, conversion).
Digital Channel Management
  • Manage and optimize all digital platforms to ensure content is timely, engaging, accessible, and reflective of the Foundation's voice.
  • Lead web content strategy, updates, and maintenance in collaboration with developers/designers, optimizing for user experience (UX) and search engine performance (SEO).
  • Oversee and refine paid digital advertising strategy, including budget management, creative performance, and agency/vendor relationships.
  • Use CRM tools, Google Analytics, and other BI dashboards to establish and monitor engagement, conversion, and ROI metrics; translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Social Media & Community Engagement
  • Oversee organic and paid social strategies to drive awareness, engagement, and donor conversion.
  • Monitor and analyze social media trends, report on campaign performance to drive improvements and refine strategies
  • Act as the Foundation's digital expert for all event activity, pushing content live and immediately post event to amplify reach
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Manage and mentor one direct report, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with colleagues across the Foundation (Fundraising, Donor Relations, Events, Data/Analytics) and the hospital Communications team to ensure coordinated, integrated approaches to storytelling and engagement.
  • Oversee relationships with digital vendors, consultants, and agencies to deliver high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
Qualification & Skills:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, 5-7 of experience in digital communications
  • 3-5 years of experience in a leadership capacity, with a proven track record of managing and mentoring direct reports.
  • Experience working with social media management tools such as Sprout Social and Facebook Insights
  • Deep experience creating audience-centred content for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS), including WordPress, and email marketing platforms
  • Experience using Google Analytics and Google AdWords
  • Experience creating and deploying email campaigns in MailChimp
  • Passion for visual storytelling and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively through design
  • High level of creativity, with a strong eye for design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Skilled with Adobe Creative Suite and Premiere Pro
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and Funraisin an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
  • A goal-oriented self-starter
  • Ability to work within a tight timeline and prioritize in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders
  • Flexible schedule to meet the demands of the position, such as a willingness and capacity to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as required
Salary Range: $82,500-$90,000. Eligibility for merit pay and comprehensive benefits including Healthcare Ontario Pension Plan enrollment
