The Manager Deice Fleet Operations holds a crucial role in ensuring that aircraft de-icing and anti-icing operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. They are responsible for overseeing the entire de-ice fleet, including equipment, personnel, and procedures
Direct Job Qualifications
De-ice equipment management: Ensuring network wide serviceability and proper functioning of de-icing equipment through regular inspections, scheduled maintenance, and repairs. This also involves managing parts inventory and relationships with maintenance vendors.
Personnel training and management: Ensure de-icing staff and operators adhere to proper equipment operation, adherence to safety protocols, and efficient de-icing procedures.
De-icing fluid management: Overseeing network wide storage, testing, mixing, and distribution of de-icing fluids according to manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory compliance: Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and ensuring the fleet adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations related to aircraft deicing operations.
Operational planning and improvement: Identifying areas for process improvements, analyzing fleet performance metrics, and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Budgeting and cost control: Assisting with the management of the de-ice fleet's budget, tracking expenses related to fuel, maintenance, and personnel, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Collaboration with stakeholders: Liaising with airline customers, airport officials, regulatory agencies, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless operations and maintain strong relationships.
Assist all locations with troubleshooting to include research, diagnostic, and repairs. Utilizing test equipment, internal/external industry resources.
Ensure completion of all scheduled preventative maintenance for all deicers for Avflight or contracted customers equipment.
Independently perform basic diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures using test equipment, applicable manuals, and industry resources
Other Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older
High School diploma or GED equivalent,
Aviation equipment experience a plus
Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
Must have at least 7 years of deice equipment maintenance experience
Must have at least 5 years of Supervisory experience
Excellent Communication skills - both verbal and written
Ability to work within Avflight owned maintenance software
Ability to work under pressure
Paint and body experience a plus
Must have own tools
Physical Demands:
Must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
Airport environment: Indoors and Outdoors. Extreme outdoor conditions where extreme temperature ranges may be encountered. Elevated noise levels periodically.
