Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes.The OpportunityVale recognizes the Impacts and Benefits Agreements with the Innu Nation and the Nunatsiavut Government in which Innu and Inuit workers have first preference for employment at the Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay Mine Site. This is guided by an adjacency principle that first gives preference to those who live on the coast of Labrador, followed by those residing in the rest of Labrador, those residing on the island of the province, followed by the rest of Canada.Next, priority will be given to Newfoundland and Labrador residents. We also welcome those who are willing to relocate back home and those looking to make NL their permanent home.We are currently seeking a Manager, Contracts \xe2\x80\x93 VNL to join our Operational Services team in Newfoundland & Labrador.This permanent position will be based in St. John\xe2\x80\x99s, NL working a Monday to Friday schedule, with regular travel to the Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay Mine Site and Long Harbour Operations as required.The Manager, Contracts \xe2\x80\x93 VNL is accountable for developing, implementing, and managing contract management processes for the Vale Newfoundland and Labrador Operations that meet the North Atlantic governance requirements. This includes the post award contractual and financial management of all professional services, purchasing, and operational and capital contracts for Long Harbour and Voisey\'s Bay. The key objective of this role is to minimize the operating and financial risks and the demand for resources for effective and efficient contract execution, working closely with the Procurement team.Additionally, in this position, you will:

• Lead a team designated to manage all contracts and agreements for the VNL Operations, while ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines, procedures, Vale values, principles, and policies are maintained throughout the life of the Contracts.
• Responsible for ensuring the successful completion of Contract Pre-Award activities such as:

• Providing input to Procurement in developing services sourcing strategies.
• Supporting preparation of the scope of work and RFP packages, prior to issuance to market.
• Coordinating and managing the technical evaluation of proposals prior to award.
• Provide direction and legal/contractual expertise to the operational teams to ensure scopes of work align with the procurement strategy and are suitable for soliciting quality proposals from the market.
• Be responsible for managing the interfaces between the following parties: Procurement, Vendors and Contractors, Operations, Engineering, Logisitics, Maintenance, and Materials Management.
• Ensure Vendors and Contractors deliver and execute in accordance with terms of their contract and scope of work. Provide oversight and monitor performance with respect to fabrication shedules, deliverables lists, inspection and test plans, logistics plans, etc.
• Establish and implement processes which eliminate or reduce Vale\'s exposure to identified or developing risk.

About YouEducation:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Commerce, Law, Engineering or a relevant field.
• CPA/LLB would be an asset.

Experience:

• 11-15 years of experience in contracts management with combined leadership experience.

Skills:

• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• In depth experience working with contract management, expert negotiating abilities with clear concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with entire life cycle of contracts in excess of $1 million or more.
• Procurement expertise in operational environment of packages valued at $1 million or greater.
