Position Overview

The Manager, Clinical Services is responsible to the Director, Provincial Health Contact Center for all aspects of the assigned program of care, including the management, coordination and delivery of quality care and patient/client services by competent staff and service partners on a 24 hour basis. The Clinical Manager seeks to promote and maintain a positive, professional, team oriented and service conscious environment.

Responsibilities for staff include interviewing, hiring, ongoing evaluation and development of staff as well as the creation of staff rotations. As a key member of the Centre\'s management team, the Manager, Clinical Services is responsible for promoting collaborative relationships within the Centre.

Responsibilities for managing financial and material resources include reviewing and revising budgets, in collaboration with the Director, Provincial Health Contact Center and in monitoring and taking appropriate actions to ensure the programs remain within the approved budget.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years current management experience in health care required
  • Five (5) years current relevant clinical experience required, with experience in Emergency or Primary Care preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a fully computerized environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills required.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, critical thinking, conflict resolution and decision making
  • Demonstrated collaborative team building skills required.
  • Demonstrated provincial health system knowledge an asset
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or a related education and experience required.
  • Advanced preparation in management required.
  • It is recommended that, at minimum, staff possess the Family & Friends category of training.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).

  • Standards and scope of practice for direct reports.
  • Personal Health Information Act, Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, and other legislated acts.
  • Knowledgeable on Collective agreement applications.
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
