Closing Date: 04/21/2024Job SummaryThe City of Mississauga is seeking a team-focused individual with a vision for community programming and passion for delivering service excellence to fill the role of Manager, City Wide Programs. Under the direction of the Manager, Program Delivery, the successful candidate is responsible for leading the Recreation & Culture Divisions operation of the centralized service team for city-wide programs, including Culture, Skating and Recreation support services.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties are to include, but not limited to:

  • Accountable for the performance of the City-wide Line of Business, overseeing the delivery of the centralized service team for the provision of city-wide programs including: Culture (Digital and Visual Art, Dance), Camps, Public Skating, and Third Party Partnership Programs. Ensuring the maximization of public participation, operating revenues and cost containment strategies for the program area.
  • Collaborate with community organizations, 3rd party providers, industry stakeholders and affiliates to ensure services are provided safely and in accordance with industry best practices, maximizing participation, revenue, and partnership opportunities.
  • Develop and implement a range of operational and service plans that respond to customer and divisional priorities; Ensure established annual targets are achieved, and/or service plans adjusted as required. Provide direction and analysis on the need for facilities, projects and initiatives to meet present and anticipated future needs of Recreation & Culture facilities, programs and services.
  • Manage recruitment, training, evaluation, scheduling, and performance management of staff. Develop and hold staff accountable to legislation, corporate policy, and divisional standards.
  • Manage the current operating budget and capital budget for the line of business, maintaining and creating revenue sources through program delivery, service level adjustments and facility allocation adjustments.
  • Contribute to the divisional budget and corporate business planning process.
  • Work with central service and business planning teams to ensure marketing collateral, internal supports , (Recreation Program Software )and financial, pricing and other administrative requirements are in place.
  • Proactively build and maintain relationships with stakeholder groups, both external and internal, to mitigate any potential barriers to service delivery.
  • Work with Facility Managers to ensure facility and customer issues/needs are anticipated and resolved.
  • Represents the City of Mississauga\'s interests on local, regional and national issues.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education or training in Recreation, Fine Arts, Arts Management, Public Administration or related discipline along with a minimum of 5 years related experience at a supervisory level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated customer service, supervisory, organization, leadership and team building skills required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and the other applicable program registration systems
  • Valid Standard First Aid/CPR"C" is required
  • Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD), High Five QUEST 2 and QUEST 1 qualifications (or a willingness to obtain within 6 months).
  • Ability to travel efficiently to multiple work locations for site visits and meetings across the City
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 94,982.00 - $ 126,643.00
