Closing Date: 07/08/2024Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Manager, City-Wide Programs, this senior programming position is responsible for the supervision, development, and delivery of relevant, high quality Culture programs and services in the digital, literary, and visual arts throughout the City to advance the Recreation and Culture Divisions strategic vision and operating business plans.Duties and Responsibilities

• Research, plan, supervise, monitor, and evaluate quality city-wide registered Culture programs and school workshops in the literary, digital, and visual arts.
• Oversee the administration of the Poet Laureate and Resident Artist Programs.
• Maintain and exceed City program standards with a focus on cultural development.
• Ensure programs and services are high quality, accessible and build new audiences/artists.
• Prepare annual budgets, monitor, and track expenses, revenue, and net.
• Prepare quarterly report forecasts and updates.
• Select, train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate full-time and part-time staff, volunteers, interns and practicing artists.
• Review, evaluate and analyze programs and services to ensure effective participation and revenue results.
• Liaise with program supervisors and facility operations to ensure a co-ordinated approach to service delivery, space utilization and program offerings.
• Prepare program plans and reports and maintain programming and administrative records.
• Adhere to corporate policy, H&S Standards and related legislation.
• Ensure timely and effective resolution of customer questions, complaints, concerns, and issues.
• Work with Marketing team to drive registration and participation targets.
• Provide representation on projects/initiatives/committees within inter/intra departmental teams and city-wide central service.
• Work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) as required.

Skills and Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Fine Arts, Arts Administration, Education or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience with progressively responsible leadership roles.
• Demonstrated knowledge and fluency in digital, visual arts and/or literary arts practices.
• Knowledge of program design, customer service, budget management, and volunteer group dynamics.
• Demonstrated leadership and team building skills, ability to work in a flexible team environment with changing priorities.
• Analytical and organizational skills.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Standard First-Aid, CPR "C", AED.
• Valid Ontario drivers licence, access to a reliable vehicle for program visits.
• HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development, High Five Quest 2 Certification.
• Knowledge of R3/SAP, SharePoint and Active Net is an asset.
• A Vulnerable Sector Check (Level 3) will be required of the successful candidate, at their own expense, to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted.

Hourly Rate/Salary: $86,858.00 - $115,812.00
