Your Opportunity:
The Allied Health Manager has a leadership role in North Zone Clinical Operations. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership, and organization over the activities of the Allied Health team in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. This work will be accomplished through planning, delivery, and evaluating health services within assigned communities of Jasper, Hinton, Edson, Whitecourt, and Mayerthorpe. Responsibilities will include making decisions regarding the integration of various resources to ensure effective delivery of health services within the Allied Health portfolio. The position is responsible and accountable for making frontline leadership decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of the goals of the Allied Health Team. Also, in partnership with the Director of Clinical Operations and Zone Allied Health leadership, will be responsible for strategic planning and operationalizing zone and provincial initiatives for the Allied Health team. The Allied Health Area manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including Acute Care, Community Care, Seniors Health, Physicians, and other clinical support departments.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an Allied Health Discipline. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. A minimum of 3-5 years in a management role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity (healthcare experience an asset).

Additional Required Qualifications:

In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including experience in management role(s) in health service operations. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally manage within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
