Radius Community Health & Healing (Radius) provides interdisciplinary, team based, integrated, comprehensive, and person-centered primary health care for vulnerable Edmontonians with complex needs. Through primary care and health promotion, Radius improves the quality of life and well-being of populations and individuals who face multiple barriers to accessing health services. The Manager of Allied Health is a leadership role responsible for providing oversight to the Allied Health team. The Allied Health team consists of mix of regulated health professionals and non-regulated team members (i.e., Social Workers (Health Advocates), Recovery Coaches, Licensed Practical Nurses, Client Support Workers) across several programs in Radius. , The Manager provides leadership and supervision to the multidisciplinary team that supports the Supervised Consumption Site (SCS), Outreach Services, Health Advocacy, and other programs. The Allied Health team provide trauma informed support to marginalized populations, ensuring that services are delivered with the highest standards of quality, ethics, and professionalism. The Manager of Allied Health will collaborate with leadership of other programs and services to ensure seamless communication, workflow and evidence informed practice. This role also fosters ongoing relationships with stakeholders, clients and the community as a whole.
Key Responsibilities:
Management:
Lead and manage a team of regulated and non-regulated team members in fostering a supportive work environment.
Lead and manage the team working in the Supervised Consumption Site, Outreach services, Health Advocacy, and other allied programs.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development for team members.
Ensure culturally safe client-centered care for marginalized populations.
Monitor employee performance, conduct, and complete evaluations as required
Approve timesheets, expense claims, and reports.
Interview, hire and orientate new staff
Address challenges and barriers within the team and service delivery.
Support the resolution of conflicts, concerns, or patient complaints
Stakeholder Relations:
Build and maintain positive relationships with team members, community organizations, and stakeholders.
Develop partnerships with external agencies and government bodies for improved service coordination.
Represent the organization at community meetings and advocacy events.
Maintain transparent communication and records of stakeholder relationships.
Case Management Leadership & Service Delivery:
Provide direct case management to clients with complex needs.
Support wrap around care and team communication to support the interdisciplinary care team and holistic, client centered care planning.
Promote and supervise the allied health and SCS teams to foster services that are trauma-informed, culturally safe, and client-centered.
Offer guidance and mentorship for vicarious trauma, crisis intervention and debriefing
Foster a collegial environment amongst team members to provide seamless care for clients
Program Development & Improvement:
Contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of programs.
Ensure ethical practice and adherence to professional standards.
Analyze service delivery outcomes and lead quality improvement efforts.
Support policies promoting staff well-being and trauma stewardship
Participate in management meetings and contribute to program evaluation, data collection and necessary reporting.
Track, support, and provide regular updates on operational objectives and priorities identified in the organization's Strategic, Operational, and/or Evaluation plans.
Qualifications:
Active registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers
Masters Degree in Social Work preferred but a Bachelor's degree with a combination of clinical and management experience will be considered
5+ years of social work experience, including managing and supervising social workers and other health disciplines.
Experience working with marginalized populations facing complex social issues (e.g., homelessness, mental health, addictions).
Strong background in interdisciplinary teams, multi-sectoral collaborations, and program development.
In-depth knowledge of social work practices, trauma-informed care, and harm-reduction principles.
Familiarity with the needs of marginalized populations, barriers to accessing care, and community resources.
Ability to apply sound judgment in high-pressure situations to ensure client safety and well-being.
Demonstrate integrity, ethical behavior, and the ability to foster positive relationships with stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Class 5 driver's license, clean driver's abstract X 3 years, and access to a personal vehicle for work-related travel.
Criminal record check including vulnerable sector check
Experience working with an electronic health record preferred
