We are hiring on behalf of our client, a well-established and regarded organization in the hospitality industry, for a full-time Manager, Accounting based in Halifax.

This permanent role is ideal for a detail-driven and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting strong financial controls while being part of a highly respected and industry-leading hospitality group.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and manage accounting for each restaurant
• Reconcile accounts, including daily reconciliations, bank statements, and inventory data
• Generate daily sales reports and prepare monthly financial statements and reports
• Process accounts payable, track invoices, and manage accounts receivable as needed
• Post journal entries and assist with year-end preparation
• Support payroll processing for approximately 300 employees every two weeks and cross-train in the clerk's absence
• Provide financial recommendations to owners and communicate regularly with general managers at each location
• Lead, supervise, and support a small team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred

Bookkeeping certification considered an asset
3-5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in hospitality or multi-unit environments * Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software, and strong Excel skills

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• High level of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Independent, proactive, and solution-oriented
