We hold social events, create interaction between residents and staff, and provide open lines of communication.The Position: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of all parts of Laebon Rental Communities properties. This involves ensuring a clean and well maintained living environment for residents, visitors and staff. It is the Maintenance Technician's duty to anticipate, identify and correct any and all problems involving the property and to implement procedures that will prevent such problems.An effective program for maintenance is essential in order to:

  • Maintain a clean and well-kept environment.
  • Cultivate resident satisfaction.
  • Protect the investment of the property owners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • General handyman duties, minor plumbing, electrical repairs and maintenance
  • Monthly maintenance and inspection of boilers and HVAC
  • Troubleshooting of appliances
  • Move heavy appliances and equipment from storage to apartments
  • General carpentry, installation of blinds, fixing doors, cabinets etc.
  • Drywall and painting
  • Manage maintenance requests including proper follow up to ensure satisfaction and completion
  • Complete maintenance checklist for unoccupied suites
Requirements:
  • Possess at least 3 years of relevant building maintenance work experience. Experience in residential construction and/or renovations is also considered an asset
  • Experience in boiler maintenance and HVAC, minor plumbing and electrical
  • Must have own tools
  • Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, municipal, provincial and federal laws
  • Flexible to work normal work hours, on-call, weekends and any after-hours emergencies
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to use at work.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
The Maintenance Technician must have an elevated ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect pertinent data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and initiate an appropriate course of action.The position is full time, 40 hours per week including weekends as circumstances warrant and on-call availability for emergencies.Please include your wage expectations in your cover letter.
