Diagnose equipment issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime, ensuring operational reliability across all three locations.
Report complex issues, especially those involving electrical systems, to the Lead Maintenance Technician for further analysis or escalation to specialized contractors, such as electricians.
Forklift and Equipment Inspections:
Ensure the operations crew conducts daily forklift and equipment inspections across assigned shifts and locations, verifying compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.
Review inspection records and report any issues or non-compliance to the Lead Maintenance Technician for prompt resolution.
Support the operations crew by providing guidance on inspection protocols as outlined in SOPs to maintain equipment reliability and safety.
Tool Management:
Ensure tools are properly put away after use, maintaining an organized and clean workspace across all three locations.
Follow established tool storage protocols, aligning with basic LEAN principles (e.g., 5S) to enhance efficiency and prevent loss or damage.
Report missing or damaged tools to the Lead Maintenance Technician to ensure adequate resources for maintenance tasks.
Shift Communication and Coordination:
Maintain clear communication with team members across three 8-hour shifts, providing detailed updates on repairs, inspection status, tool status, and work order progress during shift handoffs.
Collaborate with other technicians and the Lead Maintenance Technician to ensure seamless operations and continuity across all locations.
Share observations and suggestions for process improvements during shift transitions.
Support for Critical Spare Parts Management:
Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of critical spare parts for electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, pump, mixer, dip tank, paint mixing, I-joist/dimensional coating line, and panel coating line equipment, ensuring availability for repairs.
Report low stock levels or part usage to the Lead Maintenance Technician to support efficient replenishment.
Follow systems to track spare parts usage, aligning with basic LEAN principles to minimize waste.
SOP Adherence and Support:
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all maintenance tasks, including tool management, electrical system maintenance, and supporting inspection processes, ensuring consistency and safety across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, pump, mixer, dip tank, paint mixing, I-joist/dimensional coating line, and panel coating line systems.
Provide feedback to the Lead Maintenance Technician to assist in updating SOPs with process improvements or best practices.
Participate in training on new or revised SOPs to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
Collaboration with Engineering Department:
Work closely with the engineering department to support equipment upgrades, system installations, and process optimizations, providing hands-on assistance and maintenance insights for electrical and other systems.
Report operational data and maintenance observations to engineering to aid in designing reliable and maintainable solutions.
Assist in implementing engineering projects while adhering to maintenance schedules and SOPs.
Process Improvement:
Identify and report opportunities to improve maintenance processes, such as reducing repair times or optimizing workflows for electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, pump, mixer, dip tank, paint mixing, I-joist/dimensional coating line, and panel coating line systems.
Apply basic LEAN concepts (e.g., 5S, waste reduction) as directed to enhance workplace organization and efficiency across all locations, including tool storage areas.
Support the Lead Maintenance Technician in implementing process improvements aligned with operational goals.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to OHS standards and company safety policies, following protocols for electrical systems, dip tank, paint mixing, pump, mixer, I-joist/dimensional coating line, and panel coating line operations across all locations and shifts.
Participate in regular safety inspections, including supporting the operations crew with forklift and equipment checks, and report hazards or non-compliance to the Lead Maintenance Technician.
Stay informed on industry regulations and integrate safety practices into daily tasks, including proper tool handling, electrical safety, and storage.
Work Order Support:
Complete assigned work orders promptly and accurately, documenting repairs, inspection support, tool usage, and spare parts consumption as directed.
Ensure all maintenance activities align with SOPs and quality standards, reporting completion details to the Lead Maintenance Technician.
Assist in maintaining accurate records accessible to all shifts and locations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
2-5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a multi-shift, multi-location environment.
