Position Details

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week (OT eligible)
• Location: Calgary, AB (NE Area)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance for all equipment including punch press, end ring weld, drill, and direct wire wrap
  
• Ability to perform basic weld repairs on equipment
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment to service equipment
• Liaise with Shop Superintendents and General Operators to understand mechanical or electrical related problems
• Identify root cause of equipment related issues and incorporate potential prevention measures
• Maintain a log of issues and resolutions
• Identify/report hazards and fulfill all Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, and company policy requirements
• Support with ensuring a safe and clean work area
  

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• High School Diploma, GED and 3-5 years equivalent directly transferrable work experience (Manufacturing or Engineering discipline preferred)
• Basic understanding of hydraulics (shop runs on 4 pumps)
• Basic understanding of electrical (shop uses 1200 amps at 600 volt, 480 volt , 220 volt)
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program
• Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings (e.g., blueprints, manuals, wiring diagrams etc.)
• Exhibit good time management skills and ability to prioritize workflow throughout the day
• Strong verbal and written English language communication skills.
• 'Hands-on self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
