Maintenance Team Captain Afternoon & Night Shift Available

Job Description


The Maintenance Team Captain is responsible for all aspects of daily operations within their functional departments including but not limited to Compounding, Maintenance, Cleaning Room, Fill & Assembly and Warehouse. These responsibilities include ensuring all work is performed in compliance with Safe Work Practices, cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures, company policies and strategy. They must demonstrate leadership particularly in the areas of coaching, ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, manage department KPI. Together with department leadership team, assist with personal performance evaluation, team development and training. Provide results-oriented leadership that drives continuous improvement consistent with the Operations Strategy. Co-ordinate and assign all departmental activities, ensuring agreed upon goals and objectives are met. Extensive knowledge of department safety procedures, equipment and systems operations. Ability to apply knowledge and experience to meet and exceed job requirements. KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Operation

  • Review weekly schedule with team to identify gaps and ensure resource/material availability.
  • Achieve Net and Absolute Attainment ? Work with planning to understand schedule changes. Input to the weekly attainment file showing challenges.
  • Delegate resources (manpower / equipment / materials).
  • Lead investigation of issues affecting KPI ? minor issues resulting from error, equipment failure, product/component quality and schedule changes.
  • Drive Team Management Learning (TML) system ? Engage team daily on requirements, Review of daily Production results ? ensure information is entered before shift ends, Review action items for completeness with effective follow up to closure, Review of shift report to drive Daily Directional Setting (DDS) meeting.
  • Use of the BI Tools to drive and improve daily operational KPIs.
  • Conduct Leader standard Walk / Audit of documentation, safety and GMP processes.
  • Monitor and complete 5S process of the production area.
  • Conduct month end activities ? close work orders, balancing of hrs., identify cross charges, Verify training hrs.
  • Monitor and drive initiatives to reduce spending in department supplies ? including consumables, change parts and other overhead cost.
  • Review daily attendance ? Follow up with the employee related to attendance issue (late, absenteeism).
  • Lead and participate in CI initiatives in your areas.
2. Safety
  • Lead and support Safety programs and initiatives ? Work with safety team to implement corrective action identified.
  • Participate in Equipment Risk Assessment ? Work with team to eliminate risk.
  • Own and drive new employee onboarding ? Identify safety risk in department / Task that required to be performed. Conduct and document training.
  • Ensure team is following all safety procedures ? Equipment movement, guard removal, LOTO.
  • Conduct leader?s safety walk (identify and promote safe behavior).
3. Quality
  • Maintain GMP compliance ? Including all required documentation, process verification, checklist review, housekeeping review.
  • Audit and Support Data Integrity compliance.
  • Provide resources / support to close Deviations, CAPA and Change Control on time.
  • Audit line quality / documentation ? verify processes are being followed to drive Zero Defect.
  • Investigate line non-conformance ? Deviation from process / reworks, block stock ? Share learnings to all shifts.
  • Maintain list of all equipment ? including calibration frequency, Daily scale checks, Log Books review.
  • Review all audit non-conformance ? develop gap closure to address issues identified.
  • Conduct, review and implement corrective action to address Auditor findings.
4. Continuous Improvements
  • Review Department performance to drive weekly operational Continuous Improvement (CI) meeting.
  • Work with CI Team to build tools to help the team drive KPI improvements.
5. Learning and Development
  • Create / maintain skill matrix for each employee.
  • Identify Training Gap ? Develop procedures and assessment drive training to close gap.
  • Identify and assign trainers, set training plan in place to close gaps. Update training matrix.
  • Ensure timely completion of Training for all employees ? GMP / Safety Procedures.

Qualifications - External Minimum Education Level: College/University Minimum Years of Experience: Minimum 2 year experience in manufacturing environment Additional Job Specifications: Experience with MS Office and SAP preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. English language proficiency Knowledge of Company procedures, documentation and QA Standards.
