Location: Mississauga

Position: Maintenance Supervisor

Purpose

Reporting to the Vice-President of Facility and Fleet Services; working as a leader within a team environment, carrying out cost effective, preventative maintenance on our fleet of Coach and Charter buses, to optimize and utilize our fleet to the best of our ability while ensuring the safety of our passengers. Must be willing to work extended hours, outside of normal office hours with the possibility of on-call if required.

Qualifications

  • Valid qualifications as a Truck and Coach Technician 310T (310S an asset)
  • Thorough working knowledge of MTO, MOE, MOL, WHIMS, requirements
  • Valid Ontario Driver License (DZ) free of any serious offences
  • Strong time-management and ability to adapt to varying situations.
  • Excellent supervisory skills
  • Practical experience in preventative maintenance practices within bus industry
  • Working knowledge of computers and software applications for inputting and accessing data
  • Ability to use electronic/diagnostic equipment and to analyze vehicle/equipment problems and provide timely and cost-effective repairs and maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively to explain work required to be performed.
  • Ability to establish priorities, plan, coordinate and monitor own work as well as staff under your direction.
Responsibilities
  • Organize and oversee daily maintenance activities; distributes & updates preventative maintenance work orders on a weekly basis; following up on outstanding work orders.
  • Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinate work assignments and provide direction to all maintenance staff. Ensures staff follow all safe working procedures and using all required PPE.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations on technical manners as they relate to the mechanical systems of all buses and other support vehicles.
  • Attend training programs, courses, and seminars on all work-related topics in order to stay up to date on the changes of equipment within the industry.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving of parts and equipment, and safety inspections in a timely manner.
  • Provide clear communication daily to all staff and management on the status of repairs and/or needs of the shop, in order to reduce delays.
  • Perform equipment repairs and monthly preventative maintenance.
  • Audit all internal and external repairs and maintenance completed on company vehicles are in accordance with all safety standards set out by MOT and Company policies.
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Evaluate work performance; providing feedback, direction, and guidance as well as disciplinary action as needed following company policy.

Qualifications requises
  • Qualifications valides en tant que technicien de camions et d\xe2\x80\x99autocars 310T (310S un atout)
  • Connaissance pratique approfondie du MTO, du MEO, du MTR, des WHIMS, des exigences
  • Permis de conduire valide de l\xe2\x80\x99Ontario (DZ) exempt de toute infraction grave
  • Solide gestion du temps et capacit\xc3\xa9 de s\xe2\x80\x99adapter \xc3\xa0 diverses situations.
  • Excellentes comp\xc3\xa9tences en supervision
  • Exp\xc3\xa9rience pratique des pratiques d\xe2\x80\x99entretien pr\xc3\xa9ventif au sein de l\xe2\x80\x99industrie du transport par autobus
  • Connaissance pratique des ordinateurs et des applications logicielles pour la saisie et l\xe2\x80\x99acc\xc3\xa8s aux donn\xc3\xa9es
  • Capacit\xc3\xa9 d\xe2\x80\x99utiliser de l\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9quipement \xc3\xa9lectronique et de diagnostic et d\xe2\x80\x99analyser les probl\xc3\xa8mes li\xc3\xa9s aux v\xc3\xa9hicules et \xc3\xa0 l\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9quipement et de fournir des r\xc3\xa9parations et un entretien rapides et rentables.
  • Communiquer efficacement pour expliquer le travail \xc3\xa0 effectuer.
  • Capacit\xc3\xa9 d\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9tablir des priorit\xc3\xa9s, de planifier, de coordonner et de surveiller son propre travail ainsi que le personnel sous votre direction.
Responsabilit\xc3\xa9s
  • Organiser et superviser les activit\xc3\xa9s d\xe2\x80\x99entretien quotidiennes; distribue et met \xc3\xa0 jour les bons de travail d\xe2\x80\x99entretien pr\xc3\xa9ventif sur une base hebdomadaire; le suivi des bons de travail en suspens.
  • S\xe2\x80\x99assure que les techniciens d\xe2\x80\x99entretien sont ad\xc3\xa9quatement form\xc3\xa9s, \xc3\xa9quip\xc3\xa9s et motiv\xc3\xa9s afin que le programme d\xe2\x80\x99entretien puisse \xc3\xaatre r\xc3\xa9alis\xc3\xa9 de mani\xc3\xa8re s\xc3\xbbre, opportune et rentable.
  • Coordonner les affectations de travail et fournir une orientation \xc3\xa0 tout le personnel d\xe2\x80\x99entretien. S\xe2\x80\x99assure que le personnel suit toutes les proc\xc3\xa9dures de travail s\xc3\xa9curitaires et utilise tous les EPI requis.
  • Fournir des conseils d\xe2\x80\x99experts et des recommandations sur les m\xc3\xa9thodes techniques en ce qui concerne les syst\xc3\xa8mes m\xc3\xa9caniques de tous les autobus et autres v\xc3\xa9hicules de soutien.
  • Assister \xc3\xa0 des programmes de formation, des cours et des s\xc3\xa9minaires sur tous les sujets li\xc3\xa9s au travail afin de se tenir au courant des changements d\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9quipement au sein de l\xe2\x80\x99industrie.
  • Aider \xc3\xa0 l\xe2\x80\x99exp\xc3\xa9dition et \xc3\xa0 la r\xc3\xa9ception des pi\xc3\xa8ces et de l\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9quipement, ainsi qu\xe2\x80\x99aux inspections de s\xc3\xa9curit\xc3\xa9 en temps opportun.
  • Fournir une communication quotidienne claire \xc3\xa0 tout le personnel et \xc3\xa0 la direction sur l\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9tat des r\xc3\xa9parations et / ou les besoins de l\xe2\x80\x99atelier, afin de r\xc3\xa9duire les retards.
  • Effectuer des r\xc3\xa9parations d\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9quipement et un entretien pr\xc3\xa9ventif mensuel.
  • V\xc3\xa9rifier que toutes les r\xc3\xa9parations et tous les travaux d\xe2\x80\x99entretien internes et externes effectu\xc3\xa9s sur les v\xc3\xa9hicules de l\xe2\x80\x99entreprise sont conformes \xc3\xa0 toutes les normes de s\xc3\xa9curit\xc3\xa9 \xc3\xa9tablies par le MOT et les politiques de l\xe2\x80\x99entreprise.
  • Lancer et r\xc3\xa9aliser des projets qui am\xc3\xa9liorent l\xe2\x80\x99efficacit\xc3\xa9 et/ou r\xc3\xa9duisent les co\xc3\xbbts d\xe2\x80\x99exploitation.
  • \xc3\x89valuer le rendement au travail; fournir des commentaires, des directives et des conseils ainsi que des mesures disciplinaires au besoin conform\xc3\xa9ment \xc3\xa0 la politique de l\xe2\x80\x99entreprise.
