Reporting directly to the Operations Excellence & Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Service Representative will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility upkeep and repair, including conducting regular site inspections, managing preventative and corrective maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This role involves supervising and training unionized maintenance staff, coordinating with external contractors, maintaining inventory, and managing the maintenance budget. The Maintenance Service Representative will also prepare weekly schedules, documents maintenance processes, and respond to service requests escalating issues as needed. Strategic planning and effective resource allocation are essential to meet operational demands and maintain facility standards.
Reporting To: Operations Excellence & Maintenance Supervisor
Compensation: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per annum
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Subject to operational needs), 40 hours per week.
Job Duties:
Conduct regular site inspections to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs
Develop weekly maintenance schedules and allocate tasks based on workload forecasts
Supervise, train, and support unionized maintenance employees
Coordinate with external contractors and monitor service quality
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all maintenance activities
Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper storage and availability
Oversee preventative maintenance programs and equipment cleaning schedules
Respond to maintenance requests and escalate issues with recommended solutions
Monitor maintenance budget and document all processes and records
Assess rooms and furnishings for repair or renovation needs
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities Required
:
Bachelors degree in facilities management or a related field strongly preferred
3 years' Maintenance or facility operations experience required
Knowledge of building codes and regulations is considered an asset
Strong knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance
Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices
Effective budgeting and performance management
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Great eye for detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related communication tools.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable
Working Conditions

Ability to work in varying temperatures throughout the facility.
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, crouch periodically for long periods of time.
Tight deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible schedule including working weekends, statutory holidays, evenings, or overtime, based on operational needs.
