Reporting to the Site Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the mechanical and electrical aspects of manufacturing processes and have a desire to develop and hone new skills, while seizing the opportunity to own their career and personal development.Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Schedule mechanical jobs, electrical jobs and Preventive Maintenance Work (PM\xe2\x80\x99s) for the main plant.
  • Research, prioritize, schedule and drive the execution of maintenance work.
  • Using Prometheus, prepare and distribute a weekly mechanical and electrical schedule with input from maintenance supervisors.
  • Coordinate maintenance and shutdown with contractors.
  • Achieve and attain a manageable maintenance work order backlog.
  • Participate actively to regular review meetings for overdue, unplanned and pending work. (Daily, Weekly MP&S, Schedule Lock.
  • Help coordinate shutdowns and help manage sanitation day and extended shutdown Gantt Charts (list of work and schedule).
  • Promote proactive maintenance processes and help develop strategies that will drive continuous improvement from an operational standpoint.
  • Assist in the development of PM\xe2\x80\x99s and predictive maintenance to maximize overall equipment availability / uptime.
  • Work with other members of the Maintenance team to coordinate execution of work.
  • Promote a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to Provincial and Federal standards and McCain Policies.
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) as required.
  • Work with all maintenance personnel to ensure that the work is done properly and safely.
  • Assume responsibilities of the Line Centric Maintenance Lead for McCain Driving Impact (MDI) related activities.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Manager.
Qualification Requirements:The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
  • Apprenticeship program, technical school, or Associate\'s Degree
  • Journeyman Certificate and/or, Industrial Mechanic Millwright and/or, Industrial Electrician would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems/processes
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • 1 - 3 years relevant experience
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directed
  • Must be a team player
  • Good technical knowledge and skills
  • Good interpersonal relationship
  • Good optimization skills
  • Thorough knowledge of plant operations
