Job Description


The Maintenance Reliability Manager is a key position for our corrugated facility, responsible for improving the facility\xe2\x80\x99s manufacturing performance through machine availability through improved equipment reliability in a safe and efficient manner. The Maintenance Reliability Manager will develop and lead a work management program that maximizes the efficiency of maintenance and technical personnel while prioritizing machine capacity utilization and minimizing the cost of materials. This position is located in our Dartmouth facility and will report through the Vice President, Operations.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the Reliability and Maintenance program to ensure efficiency, quality, and service at top performance.
  • Lead the maintenance team to achieve outcomes while coaching and developing their capabilities.
  • Implement and sustain maintenance processes including spare parts, CMMS, and TPM.
  • Lead the maintenance scheduling and planning functions working towards 90% or greater planned work vs. reactive work.
  • Develop, manage, and continuously improve the asset reliability program to maximize asset availability and total life cycle value.
  • Implement reliability analytics (Weibull, Monte Carlo, reliability block diagram, and similar statistical methods) and reliability centered maintenance (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to transform maintenance from reactive to proactive performance.
  • Administer all site maintenance shop policies and practices.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, reliability personnel and suppliers to ensure the reliability of equipment on all existing and new assets.
  • Lead the site implementation of reliability engineering improvements, manage site contractors, and develop end-of-life asset replacement plans.
  • Motivate and engage employees through our strategic vision, coaching/feedback cycles, while promoting an action-oriented culture and clear two-way communication.
  • Model and drive an attitude and mindset of technical excellence and continuous improvement while championing key processes and techniques, e.g., performance management, self-directed work teams, and asset reliability.
  • Create an environment that motivates the team to use their talents and energy. Build team\xe2\x80\x99s capabilities to create a sustainable talent pipeline for leadership and technical skills.
  • Willingness to be on call as needed to include being on site for specific operations/situations.
  • Promote and instill an OH&S culture ensuring employees follows all safety protocols.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering or a 4-year Technical Degree with emphasis on Reliability Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience leading industrial maintenance, reliability, and engineering.

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, organize and carry out work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with planning and scheduling experience
  • Budgeting and cost management experience
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment (co-workers, suppliers, etc.)
  • Demonstrated Project Management and Continuous Improvement skills.
  • Advanced leadership skills in transforming reliability cultures.
  • Proven change management skills involving difficult conditions and urgent timelines (complex business processes, people, teams and functions).
  • Advanced business acumen and ability to influence decisions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver significant impact in a fast-paced environment against changing priorities with limited resources.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Effective training skills. Experience developing training content is an asset.

Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of equipment servicing, planning/scheduling, mechanical and electrical maintenance, and plant/project engineering.
  • Understanding of Maintenance and reliability planning.
  • Knowledge of Predictive Maintenance tools and techniques.
  • Application of reliability analytics and statistical models (e.g., Weibull Analysis), and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques (Statistical Process Control, Root Cause Failure Analysis, etc.).
  • Experience in the development and implementation of Maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, drives, servos, motors, and instrumentation
