PAL Technical Services is a leader in international aerospace and defense design, development and operation of airborne surveillance aircraft, line maintenance, heavy maintenance checks and modifications. We provide a wide range of aviation and related services to domestic and international markets. PAL Technical Services is hiring a Maintenance Planner in St. John's, NL. The Aircraft Maintenance Planner will assist the Fleet Planning Manager in the planning and preparation of production schedules that support the overall strategic plan and business objectives for the maintenance department, ensuring organizational effectiveness through goal attainment. this role also supports other operational departments to ensure schedules and budgets are adhered to, and that problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives are undertaken in a timely manner and in accordance with all aviation regulations and standards. Duties:

  • On-Time Delivery and timely production output in accordance with business plans, and ensuring ultimate delivery to customers
  • Risk Management through the coordination & scheduling of Human Capital & aircraft
  • Establish and set weekly and monthly targets as appropriate to report and demonstrate measurable progress in all of these areas.
  • Works with Fleet Planning Manager to plan work flow for the Maintenance department.
  • Communication and coordination with the necessary departments as required including resolution of issues and process improvements concerning production planning.
  • Create and distribute the accurate maintenance production planning documents.
  • Adopt, support and maintain monitoring systems to ensure the Maintenance Department is on track to the schedule and on budget to the goal hours.
  • Provides the required performance metric updates via current and future reporting tools (KPI Boards, Intranet, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Completion of College/CEGEP/vocational or technical training in Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Aircraft Maintenance.
  • Experience in either a manufacturing or quality system environment, as well as strong root cause analysis abilities and demonstrated usage of problem-solving tools.
  • Able to communicate and interact in a positive, professional manner.
  • Able to work on multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, flexibility, ability to work under pressure, extraordinary diligence, solution-oriented way of working.
  • Ability to work autonomously and provide progress reports.
  • Experience with aircraft systems and documentation.
  • Experience in aircraft log control will be considered an asset.
  • Must possess problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to organize and plan effectively for the timely completion of assigned tasks.
