WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE: Under the supervision of the Plant Supervisor and maintenance lead hand, this position supports plant operations in all areas of processing and packaging manufactured concrete products. These functions include, but are not limited to:
The use of a wide variety of shop tools and hand tools.
Repair and replacement of power transmission components and related parts.
Use of oxygen/acetylene torch and welding in various positions, types of joints, and types of materials.
Ability to rebuild hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and valves. Reading and interpreting pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
Troubleshooting electrical problems and reading simple electrical schematics.
Working with plant operators, plant employees and supervisors to solve problems and implement solutions and improvements.
Make safety a top priority within the plants. Implement improvements to machine and plant safety and demonstrate dedication to safety especially with respect to lock-out and use of PPE.
Work with plant manager to continuously improve the facilities and their respective production processes.
You are required to keep your work area clean and organized to assist your co-workers and to perform any and all tasks as directed.
