We're looking for a full-time Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance department and ensure our fleet operates at peak performance, maintaining the highest safety, compliance, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Airworthiness Oversight - Lead and manage all maintenance activities, ensuring aircraft are maintained in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), approved company manuals, and manufacturer data.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Control - Ensure strict adherence to Transport Canada requirements under CARs 573, 571, and 706. Maintain oversight of all technical records, audits, and internal maintenance documentation systems.
Vendor & Contract Management - Coordinate with external maintenance providers and oversee contracts for third-party maintenance, parts procurement, and inspections.
Leadership & Team Management - Supervise AMEs and support staff, providing training, mentorship, and performance feedback. Maintain an accountable, safety-driven team culture.
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling - Coordinate short- and long-term maintenance schedules in collaboration with the Operations team. Prioritize aircraft availability while minimizing downtime.
Technical Troubleshooting - Provide hands-on support and technical troubleshooting for complex mechanical and avionics issues, with a focus on piston-engine aircraft.
Process Development & Continuous Improvement - Evaluate and enhance internal maintenance processes to improve operational efficiency, reduce cost, and ensure compliance.
Safety & Risk Management - Champion safety throughout maintenance operations, supporting proactive identification and mitigation of hazards under the company's Safety Management System (SMS).
Budget Oversight - Assist with maintenance budget forecasting, tool procurement planning, and cost control initiatives.
What You Bring
Licensing & Experience - Valid Transport Canada AME License (M1 required; M2 an asset). Minimum 7 years of maintenance experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Aircraft Expertise - In-depth experience with Piper Navajos and other twin-piston aircraft. Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with engine, airframe, and avionics systems.
Regulatory Knowledge - Strong understanding of CARs, and a history of maintaining airworthiness and compliance in a commercial environment.
Organizational Leadership - Proven experience leading maintenance teams, developing procedures, and ensuring accountability across maintenance operations.
Communication & Collaboration - Professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to liaise with Transport Canada, vendors, and internal teams.
Technical Proficiency - Skilled in digital record-keeping, MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams), and maintenance tracking systems.
Problem-Solving & Initiative - A proactive mindset, capable of balancing urgent tasks with long-term strategic planning.
What We Offer
Up to $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience
Per diem ($3 per hour for travel or off-site work)
