What you can expect in a typical day

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join our Irving Blending & Packaging team. The Maintenance Manger coordinate the activities of the maintenance team to ensure the equipment is running efficiently within budget, and works with stakeholders on capital projects.

Your roles and responsibilities:
  • Ensure business reliability through managing all health, safety and environmental programs
  • Coordinate, schedule & manage the day-to-day activities of the multi-disciplinary maintenance employees and outside contractors
  • Assist in managing the Repair & Maintenance budget for the maintenance department and the areas it supports, including all maintenance inventory
  • Maintain the Preventative Maintenance tracking system eMaint, evaluate incoming work orders, prioritize the work, ensure timely completion, track them as necessary
  • Assist with the implementation of capital projects
  • Assist with the identification of root causes following equipment failures and development of new maintenance tasks to eliminate re-occurrence, liaise with Operations and Planner/Scheduler on matters relating to equipment maintenance and availability
  • Responsible for the Management of Change approval as functional reviewer, change originator and initial approval pending type of event, functional reviewer of all Process Safety Management procedures specific to the maintenance team
  • Knowledgeable in current and potential practices and trends in the industry to develop strategies to increase profitability

Travel
  • Travel is not a requirement for this position.
Education and experience
  • University degree or diploma from a Community College in an Engineering field or Trade School with a trades certification required
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a people leadership role
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility or industrial setting
  • Experience with a Preventative Maintenance Inventory management system would be considered an asset
