We're looking to enhance our team by welcoming a new

Maintenance Manager

to the Maintenance team, reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Operations. The Maintenance Manager is a full-time salaried position critical to maintaining smooth and efficient production operations. This position's key responsibilities are to ensure reliable operations of the plant equipment, to develop and execute a condition-based preventative maintenance program, to oversee mechanical and electrical maintenance repairs and to troubleshoot and fix any issues with plant equipment with local resources or by dispatching external third-party expert resources. This is a key leadership role in the Operations team that requires strong initiative and people management skills with excellent hands-on technical capabilities and proficiency in managing world class maintenance operations. A commitment to continuous learning and adherence to safety and food industry standards is essential for success in this role.

The role:



Ensure equipment is maintained in a manner approved by GMP to ensure Food Safety and Quality of Products. Develop and conduct a condition-based preventive maintenance program to ensure line uptime of more than 95%. Manage work assignments and keep up-to-date maintenance records in Maintain X and Red Zone. Lead all maintenance resources and manage the maintenance of all equipment for a 3-shift / 5-day production environment across 6 production lines. Ensure the operational fitness of all peripheral equipment such as boilers, compressors, water heaters, steam cleaners, floor scrubbers, etc. Adopt a hands-on approach in identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment issues Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Schedule and execute equipment overhauls, as required with minimal disruption to production. Track expenses and oversee the budget for maintenance. Create and implement new maintenance procedures and optimize existing ones. Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and proactively resolve problems. Ensure all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures. Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates. Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs. Oversee equipment/spare parts stock and place orders for new supplies when necessary. Allocate workload, supervise the work, and manage staff performance Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineer to install, calibrate, and maintain systems that measure production KPIs Manage relationships with contractors and third-party service providers.

You offer:



10+ years' experience in maintenance management role with manufacturing/packaging experience A valid Millwright license in the province of Ontario is strongly preferred Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems Experience in planning maintenance operations in a CMMS environment Working knowledge of condition-based maintenance systems with successful track record Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent people leadership and maintenance management skills Outstanding organizational abilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff members Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making Good computer and math skills, ability to take measurements and work with numbers Able to work in small spaces and lift heavy equipment (25kg) Good hand-eye coordination and motion control Good practical skills to use a range of hand and power tools Excellent initiative with ability to work with minimal direction GMP and HACCP training Excellent mechanical skills required Experience in food manufacturing environment is preferred. Ability to work flexible hours as required to support the plant and minimize production downtime.

Supervisory Responsibilities include:



Managing the work assignment, performance, and development of the maintenance team. Hiring required resources to support business growth and ensure smooth functioning of all shifts within production operations.
