What will you do in this job?:
  • Oversee maintenance of Lake Minnewanka boats, buildings, grounds and light fleet vehicles
  • Regularly inspect and test all engine and mechanical equipment with the goal of preventative maintenance
  • Responsible for scheduling preventative maintenance tasks and maintenance personnel to maximize our operational requirements on budget.
  • Ensure shop or facility is clean and kept in a professional working manner
  • Lead rental boat and maintenance personnel in day-to-day activities to ensure the safe and efficient completion of a variety of projects
  • Track and report weekly all maintenance issues and potential risks to General Manager
  • Offer suggestions for capital improvements that will improve efficiency, drive a positive guest and employee experience, and allow us to become better environmental stewards
  • Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times
  • Develops standards and techniques to ensure safety, efficiency, consistency, quality and an elevated guest and team experience across all operations
  • Coach, develop and mentor the team while maintaining a fun, professional workplace
  • Ensure proper documentation and record keeping of training
  • Assist in training of all marine staff in accordance with Transport Canada and Parks Canada regulations
  • Assist in preparing necessary data for capital budget; projects, labor and other costs and monitors actual financial results
  • Assist with capital projects, delivering on time and budget
  • Foster a culture of creativity, excellence, fun and hospitality

  • Participate in monthly financial reviews, forecasting and annual budget discussions
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
  • Unparalleled commitment to health and safety
  • Licenced diesel mechanic is ideal, but not required
  • Good organizational skills with attention to timeliness and details
  • Willing to train as a Transport Canada Master Limited < 60 ton
  • High attention to detail and good communication skills
  • Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC)
  • Physical strength and stamina
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot problems, create and implement solutions
  • Enjoy variety and doing precision work with machinery and equipment
  • Proven drive to continuously improve, adapt and innovate
