Department: Maintenance Department

Title: Full Time Maintenance Machinist- Non-CNC

Reports To: Lead Hand/Supervisor

Primary Responsibility

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor your primary responsibility is to perform maintenance and repairs on all machines and machinery at Bulldog Plant and manufacture parts as needed to manufacturers standards in a safe and efficient manner.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs in an efficient manner ensuring machine is operating to stated standards
  • Perform regular maintenance in accordance with preventative maintenance schedule
  • Manufacture parts for machine repairs and upgrades
  • Follow all Food Safety, product quality and Health and Safety Guidelines as laid out in the Departmental Summary
  • Assist in all work that needs to be completed.
  • Nice to Have:
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Strong math skills
  • Excellent English communication skills, grade 12 or equivalent
  • Ability to complete required paperwork accurately to include quality and production reports
  • Physically able to perform all aspects of the job; be on your feet entire shift, bending, reaching, walking, lifting up to 50lbs
Must Haves:

Trade certification or diploma, willingness to challenge ITA exam

Your own tools/tool box

Ability to communicate effectively in English; reading, writing and speaking

Mechanical and electrical knowledge

Good troubleshooting skills

Ability to manufacture spare parts as needed

Mig & Tig welding experience

Low voltage and industrial motor electrical experience

Lathe operating experience

Physically able to perform all aspects of this labour intensive role including workshop cleaning

Ability to do shift work, must be flexible (own vehicle required as shift work is required)

Ability to work while machines are inactive, occasional overtime

Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Strong team work ethic, help fellow millwrights as needed
