In this role, you will be critical in servicing, repairing, and manufacturing a variety of plant equipment including various types of valves, pumps, process equipment and mining equipment. You will also have to work outdoors from time to time and assist other trades when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

Valid Alberta Journeyperson Machinist or a Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyperson Machinist certification. Dual ticket with Millwright experience would be an asset.

Minimum 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Maintenance /Repair/ manufacturing setting as a Machinist with CNC experience.

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a clean driving record

Experience with manual CNC lathes, manual milling machines, surface grinders radial arm drills. Boring Mill and Line boring experience is required.

Field Machining experience performing line boring heavy equipment required.

Responsibilities:

Maintain, troubleshoot and repairs a variety of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, i.e. Valves, pumps, compressors and mining equipment.

Assists other Maintenance Trades and/or Production Technicians as required.

Location & other key details

You will work out of our camp-based Fort Hills mining site, located in Alberta\xe2\x80\x99s Athabasca region, 90 kilometers north of Fort McMurray, Alberta.

The shift schedule is a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation (12-hour shifts, nights included)

You will be on a Fly-In-Fly-Out Rotation from one of the approved hubs of Edmonton or Calgary or a Bus-In-Bus-Out of Fort McMurray.

This position is safety sensitive.

You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use of ladders and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces.
