Role Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations:
Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance policies, standards, and procedures.
Plan, schedule, and direct all maintenance activities to ensure operational efficiency.
Establish systems, audits and processes that ensure quality repairs, diagnostics, and service across all garage sites supporting Transdev West's fleet and facilities.
Ensure asset maintenance is performed in compliance with all regulatory, safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Ensure proper utilization of Electronic Asset Management System (Hexagon) to ensure detailed maintenance records and program adherence
On-the-ground support for contract start-ups and location improvement efforts
Asset & Fleet Management:
Oversee procurement, replacement, and disposal of company assets (fleet and facilities).
Optimize fleet utilization and ensure availability, safety, and reliability.
Manage and maintain Electronic Asset Management System (Hexagon)
Monitor asset conditions and plan for capital replacement.
Coordinate outsourced maintenance and vendor-provided services.
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead a team of regional maintenance professionals
Support location-based maintenance and administrative teams across multiple locations.
Promote accountability, safety culture, and continuous improvement.
In collaboration with location staff - recruit, train, and retain high-performing maintenance personnel.
Foster strong internal communication and cross-functional collaboration.
Financial & Performance Oversight:
In collaboration with locations, prepare and manage maintenance budgets and expenditures.
Analyze and present key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership.
In collaboration with locations, oversee inventory control and cost-effective parts procurement.
Provide long-term capital planning and operational cost forecasts.
Manage annual internal mandatory reporting
Vendor & Stakeholder Relations:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
Partner with other departments to ensure operational needs are met and efficiency is maximized.
Negotiate service contracts and monitor performance.
Conduct supplier site visits and performance reviews.
Participate in the Canadian Asset and Maintenance team
Qualifications and experience
Certified Mechanic, Engineer or related technical or operational field
Significant experience in heavy vehicle fleet maintenance, including supervisory or leadership roles.
Previous experience in public or commercial transportation is preferred.
Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair, and maintenance procedures.
Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in maintenance management systems and technical tools.
Proven ability to manage budgets, optimize operational efficiency, and deliver cost-effective solutions.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
