ROLE PURPOSE

The Maintenance and Asset Manager will ensure all properties, both owned and leased by Connective, are functioning safely, efficiently, and effectively. This may include performing a variety of interior and exterior maintenance duties. They will implement structures and support to ensure that Connective's assets are well maintained. They will support key common initiatives and projects that are strategically aligned to serve clients, employees, and volunteers.



REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports and is accountable to the Senior Manager of Building Infrastructure and Asset Management.

Participates as a member of the Connective Administrative Support Team.

Liaises with staff, external contractors, government agencies, and members of the community as required.



HOURS (40 Hours Per Week)

Monday to Friday, 0800 - 100

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manages Maintenance & Administrative Coordinators and Custodians within the Infrastructure team.

Assumes a primary role in completing necessary repairs or coordinating with external contractors for repairs beyond their scope. Optimizes and manages all property-related processes and systems. Maintains an up-to-date list and schedule of all planned and unplanned maintenance, as well as repairs for our assets. Fosters effective relationships between internal program leaders and external contractors. Ensures Connective meets regulatory and accreditation requirements in relation to properties, including Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards and Occupational Health & Safety requirements. Develops and monitors operational budgets for all properties and capital plans for owned properties within their region. Assists with and/or conducts inspections of resident spaces. Supports residents with coordinating de-hoarding and clutter reduction within resident spaces. Reviews and approves invoices in a timely manner to maintain critical relationships. Participates in continuous proactive initiatives by identifying opportunities for improvement in costs, quality, customer service, and assets.

WORKING CONDITIONS



Function independently, while remaining a crucial member of the support team. Adhere to Connective policies and procedures. Demonstrate a level of physical fitness and emotional resilience to effectively carry out the required duties of the program and to meet the operational needs of the residence. Often exposed to working conditions including chemicals such as paint, stains, cleaning agents, and glue when performing basic painting, plumbing, and carpentry work; requires specific safety precautions to mitigate the risk of injury. Be available to work flexible hours as needed. May include some evenings/weekends, as determined by the regional office needs and schedules.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Degree, diploma and/or trade certificate in a relevant discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience. 5 years of recent experience in asset management, operations management, or property management. Demonstrated commitment to a high level of customer service. Ability to manage and coordinate a work team across regions. Flexibility to travel within the Vancouver or Fraser Valley regions. High proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite. Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, and written).

REQUIREMENTS

Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check Ability to successfully pass a reference check Valid driver's license

COMPENSATION

Annual salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. This role will also be eligible for Connective's comprehensive Management Benefits Package.
