Calgary Housing (CH) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the City of Calgary. CH is a purpose-driven social enterprise and the largest housing operator in Calgary, providing safe and affordable housing to more than 27,000 Calgarians. The Maintenance Administrator will be an important contributor and change champion to help us reach our ambitious vision to be the best - for our residents, our employees, and our city. Primary duties include:

Monitor and respond to a variety of maintenance requests (for example: plumbing, HVAC, electrical, residential repairs, and renovations), assign work orders to internal staff or external contractors as required, and follow-up to ensure an immediate response in emergency situations. Create detailed schedules for move outs and renovations. Track and schedule non-emergency plumbing and heating shut downs. Diagnose and trouble shoot maintenance problems with residents over the phone. Coordinate with trades, staff, contractors and residents to schedule repairs. Provide support to tenants with questions about unit maintenance and lease requirements. Create work order and purchase order follow-up reports and investigate those that have not yet been invoiced. Provide building maintenance and management support to supervisors.




Qualifications

A High School diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED) plus job related course work and at least 3 years of relevant experience in a property maintenance, construction or property management setting. An intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word) and strong keyboarding skills (50 words per minute). A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits and the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes. Applicants must be eligible for appointment as a Commissioner for Oaths. The following will be considered assets: + Experience working with vulnerable populations and diverse communities.
+ Experience in a government or regulated environment.
+ De-escalation, Conflict Resolution and Mental Health First Aid training.
+ Previous scheduling and/or dispatching experience.
+ Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act of Alberta (RTA), Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP), and the Alberta Minimum Housing Standards.
+ Experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
+ Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and/or Yardi.
Well-developed communication skills along with strong analytical and problem solving skills. The ability to work in a fast paced, high volume customer service environment with changing priorities. Strong conflict management skills and the ability to effectively deal with stressful situations.

Working Conditions:

High volume office environment with potential exposure to verbally abusive situations.

Pre-employment Requirements

A security clearance and Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) will be conducted. Applicants will be tested for appropriate skills. Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Compensation: Pay Grade 8 $37.77 - 50.50 per hour
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
