SCHEDULE/LOCATION OF WORK:


10-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week (Monday-Thursday)
Facility in Rosenort, MB (35 min south of Winnipeg)


About the Role


As the Machine Shop Supervisor at K.A Group, your primary responsibility is to oversee the complete production line process, ensuring smooth and efficient operation. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a focus on quality, safety, and productivity.


Key Duties and Resonsibilities
Lead by example, demonstrating the organization's values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
Develop and coach team members through structured training, skill development, and ongoing feedback to support individual and departmental growth.
Champion a strong safety culture, prioritizing the health and well-being of the team.
Maintain compliance with all safety policies and certifications, including Made Safe, in coordination with the Health & Safety team.
Plan, schedule, and allocate labor and resources to meet production targets and customer delivery commitments.
Lead daily department meetings.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Purchasing, and other departments to ensure on-time delivery.
Ensure product quality through regular audits and adherence to quality standards.
Ensure adherence to standard work, procedures, and work instructions.
Proactively identify risks and bottlenecks, leading problem-solving efforts to minimize disruption and maintain flow.
Support new product introductions and process changes, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.
Maintain and review department KPI boards covering safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery.
Manage workforce attendance, performance, and discipline in alignment with company policies.
Analyze and report on performance trends, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting operational improvement initiatives.
Coordinate with Maintenance and Purchasing to ensure machinery reliability, preventive maintenance execution, and adequate tooling availability to support production demands.
Monitor and manage departmental costs, including scrap, rework, overtime, and tooling usage.
Skills and Abilities
Leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and manage a diverse team.
Strong working knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and effective resource allocation.
Solid understanding of manufacturing quality standards, inspection practices, and quality control principles.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and drive process improvements.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to support cross-functional collaboration and alignment.
Ability to enforce safety policies and actively foster a strong safety-first culture.
Commitment to continuous improvement, operational discipline, and excellence in execution.
Proficient in the use of ERP, production planning software, manufacturing systems and Excel.
Education and Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CNC manufacturing or machine shop environment.
Demonstrated experience leading or supervising manufacturing teams.
Red Seal Certification in CNC Machining or equivalent trade certification preferred.
Working knowledge of CAD/CAM programming sufficient to support scheduling, troubleshooting, and team guidance.
Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies in an operational setting.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems, production planning tools, and manufacturing software.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and operating machinery.
