We are currently seeking a
Truck Repair Shop Supervisor
to join our leadership team. This is
not an entry-level position
-- the ideal candidate will need to have
proven experience in a truck repair environment
and the ability to lead a team while maintaining high operational standards.
Position Overview:
The Truck Repair Shop Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily shop operations to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is carried out
productively, efficiently, and to the highest standard of quality and safety
. The role involves coordinating workflow, supporting technicians, maintaining productivity targets, and providing regular updates and reports to the Shop Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of truck and trailer technicians, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
Monitor job progress, quality of work, and adherence to timelines and company standards.
Assign work orders, manage priorities, and support technicians with technical or operational issues.
Maintain communication with the Shop Manager regarding workload, staffing, equipment, and material needs.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with diagnostics, inspections, and repair planning as needed.
Review completed work for accuracy, quality, and completeness before release.
Promote a positive, team-oriented culture focused on excellence, accountability, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Minimum
2-3 years of experience in a truck repair or heavy-duty maintenance facility
.
Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related systems.
Prior supervisory or lead-hand experience preferred.
Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Understanding of CVIP and OEM repair standards.
Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence (an asset).
