Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating equipment, laying and installing underground pipelines, ensuring safety and precision throughout the process. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical systems, and various hand and power tools. The Machine operator/ Pipelayer will work closely with project managers and other trades to complete projects efficiently and to high standards.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging gear to move materials and prepare trench sites. Lay, assemble, and install underground pipelines according to project specifications. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and low voltage systems to assemble piping components. Perform trenching, shoring, and excavation activities safely while adhering to OSHA standards. Assist with electrical work related to low voltage systems when necessary. Conduct routine inspections of pipelines for leaks or defects during installation. Coordinate with other team members to ensure proper rigging and safe handling of materials. Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety protocols are followed at all times.

Experience

Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and other heavy machinery. Mechanical knowledge related to pipeline systems, welding, rigging, and electrical systems (including low voltage). Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in pipeline installation projects. Prior experience with welding is highly desirable. Knowledge of safety procedures related to trenching, excavation, and heavy equipment operation. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is a plus. Pay: $28.00-$55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 80 - 90 per week
