What are we looking for?
Algonquin Bridge designs and manufactures steel structures for the bridge industry and is currently seeking full time Machine Operator to join our team. This position will report to the Supervisor and will be working in a manner to meet the safety, quality and efficiency standards for the particular job at hand, as well as working in a team environment.
We have 2 open positions - 1 for the day and 1 for the night shift.
Responsibilities:
Set up of the machines
Operate the machine efficiently and safely
Responsible for routine maintenance.
Assist with trouble shooting and problem solving mechanical problems
Qualifications:
O.S.S.G.D Graduation diploma or equivalent
Experience with an ERP system - Visual Manufacturing - an asset
Crane Training, WHIMIS
Capable of understanding processes in the departments
Mathematical capability
Proficient at using a tape measure
Strength in organization and housekeeping
Willing to work overtime as required and committed to doing what is necessary to ensure duties are completed.
Strong oral and written English language communication skills.
Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and balance conflicting priorities.
Sense of urgency with excellent attention to detail.
Other duties as assigned
Must be able to wear and perform work in personal protective equipment (e.g. welding hood) for extended periods.
