Overview

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing. This role involves setting up equipment, making adjustments as needed, performing basic troubleshooting, and following all safety and quality standards to meet production targets.

Shift Availability

8-hour shifts (Day, Afternoon, or Night)

Compensation

$20-$21/hr

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion machines to produce materials according to specifications Load raw materials and ensure proper material flow through the extruder Adjust machine settings such as temperature, pressure, speed, and die alignment to maintain product quality Monitor product output and perform regular quality checks (dimensions, weight, appearance) Identify, troubleshoot, and correct process or equipment issues during production Perform die changes, screen changes, and start-ups/shut downs as required Follow production schedules and meet output targets Complete production reports and maintain accurate records Perform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and basic mechanical adjustments Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and company procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Communicate issues, downtime, or material concerns to supervisors and maintenance teams

Experience

Experience as a Machine Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Mechanical aptitude (be able to make small repairs) and support maintenance personnel when needed Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong attention to safety and quality Willingness to work shifts as required Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Solid communications skills (written & verbal).
